A/n: Hi and welcome back to y'all who has been with me since the last fic. This will be softer and nicer.  The characters are closer to cannon but the story is not based on TNN storylines so I guess it is an AU. Let's get into it.

It was a Tuesday when Mia and Reece moved to the neighborhood. Mia had of course been reluctant to move, she wanted a penthouse apartment in the city but Reece bought a house in the suburbs. Sure, it was huge and expensive but it was not a penthouse. What do people in the suburbs even do? As some kind of compromise Reece let her buy all the furniture for the house, it was something at least...

As the movers unloaded the last of the brand new furniture Mia looked on from the balcony facing the street, yes there were multiple balconies, she started to look more closely at the house surrounding them. Most were smaller and older. The people around here weren't rich like Reece's dad, Roger, then again Mia and Reece weren't really rich either. Reece was on his fathers payroll and so was Mia, he had made it possible for them to buy this house. Mia should feel gratitude but then she looked around and she was in the fucking suburbs. What do people do in the suburbs? Oh right she already asked herself that question. Across the street was one of the nicer houses. It was not big but it was beautiful, almost romantic. Mia wonders about the people who lived in that house. They probably were childhood sweethearts and would grow old together in that very same house. They had 2 kids and they loved to sit around the table after dinner and play cards. A perfectly nice family, made for the suburbs.

Reece came up behind her and stood there watching here for a while. They loved each other but not as most 'regular' couples do. They got together young and although they split up when they went to different universities they decided to get back together. At uni they had both fucked around and seen what is out there and they shared that with each other, that is actually why they got back together. Both Mia and Reece wanted a comfortable life, but they also wanted freedom, so they decided to become a polyamorous couple. They were great friends and sometimes they had sex but they didn't like the idea of being with one person forever. Both their families were traditional and would never let them live like that, so Mia and Reece solved the problem and moved in together. Mia did love Reece but not in a way most people would understand. This was also one of the issues with moving away from the city, was she supposed to uber partners out here? Was Reece and her supposed to start a carpool for the people they slept with?

"Mia, it will be better than you think. If you hate it we will move... Just give it a shot, this is a really good look for us" She nodded knowing what he meant and that he was correct, this was a good look for them. A happy young couple moving away from the big city to start their perfect life together. Mia found that nauseating.

"People are going to ask us when I am going to start popping out babies" Mia said flatly. Reece laughed at this. None of them wanted children, another thing making them kind of perfect for each other.

"You can always tell them that I am impotent" Reece said. Mia could hear him smile as the words left his mouth. She laughed.

"Yeah, that's a good plan" She looked at him. He looked happy and she really wanted him to be happy.

"Have you called Siobhan yet?" Siobhan was a woman they shared, that might sound crude but in their arrangement this wasn't weird. They had some rules, they could date people outside of each other, they had some partners they shared, most things could be arranged as long as they talked about it first.

"I texted her but she doesn't want to come over. I think that she is ending things, at least with me" He didn't look sad or anything, he was just stating facts.

"Would you be ok if I kept seeing her?" Mia asked. She didn't know if she herself wanted to see Siobhan, but communication was key so she wanted to get things straight before making any decision at all.
