Regina seems to have a daily pep talk with herself about her relationship, reminding her heart that it's okay to miss Emma and that this time apart is only making them stronger. Soon, she will be with Emma and they will be starting their family and life will be easier but she needs to keep pushing through and don't do anything stupid. After she and Henry left after the New Year, life was a little hectic with back to school and Emma was slammed at work because people had nowhere else to go hang out because of the bitter winter. She didn't even see Emma for her birthday, however, her fiancé did surprise her on Valentine's Day. Honestly, Regina had no idea Emma had planned anything but when she arrived at home, Emma was there, cooking dinner for her and Henry. She didn't come empty-handed either. For Henry, an adorable Mickey Mouse dressed all dapper holding a heart that said Happy Valentine's Day. And for momma, as Emma had so sweetly put it, a box filled with chocolate covered strawberries and a bouquet of red roses. Regina, on the other hand, gifted Emma plenty of orgasms that night because she didn't have anything else in return since she had no clue Emma would show up.
Unfortunately, that trip only lasted two days.
It's been a month since she last saw Emma in person because this amazing woman still takes the time to eat dinner with them via FaceTime every night. Henry's starting to notice that Emma comes and goes from their lives and it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't ask for her every day. He's officially attached to her but who could blame him when Emma is constantly playing with him and showering him with love and attention every time she comes around?
Now, it's the end of March and luckily, Regina has the next week off for Spring Break. She needs the rest and relaxation but she has a feeling she won't be doing much of that. She's hosting a party for Henry's third birthday and Emma will be in town the entire week. Plus, her best friend, Kat is insisting she and Emma come out for her birthday and she won't take no for an answer.
"Momma?" Henry quietly calls her, handing over the iPad because she's cooking dinner and that means Emma will be calling soon; little does he know Emma will be here any minute.
"Oh? It's about that time for Emma, right baby?"
"I see Emma?" He pouts, his little bottom lip curling as far down as possible.
"I know, I miss Emma too," she coos, sweeping down to lift him up and place him down at the kitchen table but then there's a knock at her door. Henry's eyes double in size, his mouth forming an O from his shock. "Oh, I wonder who that could be?"
"Emma! Emma!" Henry shrieks, jerking violently in her arms because he cannot possibly contain all this excitement for one more second.
Regina giggles at her son's cuteness as she rushes to the front door. When she flings it open, she's momentarily paralyzed from how beautiful her fiancé is. Her heart takes off racing, eager to be closer to her soulmate who is standing on her front porch with her arms wide open in that damn red leather jacket that does silly things to her insides.
"My guy!"
"Emma!" Henry screeches like a hyena, flinging himself out of Regina's arms but Emma is right there to catch him and then happily toss him into the air.
It's a total of three launches into the air before Emma is cradling Henry's head and hugging him like a protective mother bear.
"I missed you so much. Look how big you got!"
"I'm gonna be free!"
"Three, honey," Regina gently corrects.
"Three?" Emma pretends to be flabbergasted by this information, her head rearing back to look into his big brown eyes. "Wow! That's so big. I'm so glad I'm going to be here for your birthday."
