Chapter 8

Back on the troll earth, Poppy and Branch along with the help of their respective families began to move Branch's most important belongings to Poppy's pod. The queen summoned the help of some of her friends too, those being Prince D and his hoverboard, Legsly and her stretchy legs, and Fuzzbert for no reason at all. John Dory and Spruce tried to carry Branch's bed frame, but unfortunately, their middle-aged spines felt cramps, yet somehow King Peppy carried a fridge on his back with no problem, Queen Primrose and Viva used their self-taught abilities to toss Branch's clothes with a slingshot with angles calculated by Clay, Floyd was responsible for the decorations inside the Pod.

"Woof." Legsly yelped as she fell onto the tree ramification in front of Poppy's pod, "I think that was everything..."

Poppy looked at her friends as she gave her pod a new shade of pink, "What?! Really?!"

Legsly pulled her legs up with the strength she had left, but Prince D helped gather them up. The tall troll responded, "Mhm! All done."

"Oh, my Gummy Bear." Poppy dropped the hairspray and ran toward her friends, she grabbed both Legsly's and Darnell's hands, "Thank you both so much. I have no idea how we'd be able to carry all those things from down in the bunker to the highest treetop."

"Yeah." Branch walked next to Poppy and added, "Thanks for the lift."

"No problem, you can count on me for anything." Prince D. said with his usual chill tone, "Wait, not everything though." He quickly corrected his phrase, to preserve his peace.

Legsly suddenly got a notification from her ankle watch and gasped, "Jelly beans! I'm late for my gift-wrapping classes!" The latter formed a spring with her legs and bounced off into the distance. Everyone watched in confusion, including the royal couple's families who just came from all the hard work they've been put into.

"I'm visiting my parents." Prince D. responded and flew away to the west, back to Vibe City.

"Okay!" Poppy blinked as she clapped her hands together and caught everyone's attention, "It's time to officially open the brand new House of Broppy!"

Poppy opened the door and inside was Floyd and Fuzzbert, both wearing tuxedos with Poppy's refurbished apartment, not just containing her belongings but now including Branch's. The group walked in with wonder in their eyes, Fuzzbert sprouted an arm from inside his fur and offered drinks to the guests.

"Yes, thank you!" Clay accepted the berry shake and ultimately began to slurp it all once, "Now this is what I'm talking about!"

Little did he know that Fuzzbert may have spiked the drinks behind Floyd's back, but that is a story for another time. Meanwhile, Floyd gave everyone a tour of his brand-new creation, "Everyone beholds... The vacant room!"

It was quite literally a room serving as a storage for Branch's weird stuff, his jars, his puzzles, his strange creations, and his very strange attempts at scrapbooking. Branch gasped in horror and he rushed to hide all of that with a big barrier of hair.

"I like it." King Peppy admitted since he has a peculiar taste himself, "Very modern."

Viva side-eyed her father and stated, "Dad you spent years hiding secrets from your daughter... Of course, you'd think this is a good thing."

"I mean, it's better than my kid's room." Spruce said as he also drank one of Fuzzbert's drinks, he let out a laugh after taking a sip, "Brandy and I are used to it."

"Maybe they can get used to it too!" John Dory cheered them over, he had been working on his demeanor for a while now, trying not to be a jerk.

Floyd explained the reasoning behind this place, "Honestly this room just served as a placeholder for all of Branch's undetermined stuff."

"Why couldn't you keep it in the bunker?" Branch panicked, questioning their decision.

"Well, we have our own stuff too." Clay sassed his brother over, in the usual way.

John Dory nodded his head to that statement and reassured it, "Like yeah, where am I gonna park Rhonda silly?"

"Huh..." Branch was left to ponder about it for a minute, Poppy knew this wasn't easy for Branch so they had to work through it together.

"Bye, guys!" Viva waved both of them goodbye, giving them a sweet Viva hug, "Congrats on the new humble abode!"

Queen Primrose stayed behind to speak directly to the lovebirds, "Listen you two, take your time, don't rush it, enjoy life at its fullest. Take it from me, I should've known better and for that, I missed out on a lot. Please do it, not for me but for yourselves."

That impacted both Poppy and Branch in different ways, her words were very meaningful for Branch as the way he viewed this situation varied distinctly from Poppy. While Poppy herself felt it as it happened to refer to her own family.
