The girl's palms were all sweaty as the three finally reached their home.
As Eren proceeded to open the door, she wiped her hands on her dress' skirt and soon they had already stepped in the stone building.
"We're back!", Eren announced and the woman that was in front of the sink turned their way.
"Welcome home.", she replied.
Their dad was already on the table with a newspaper in hand.
Mikasa was quick to let the wood she was carrying down and Eren copied her.
Belva avoided to do the same and went on the other side of the kitchen to let hers there.
For now, Carla invested her attention on her son.
"My, Eren, I see you've worked harder than usual."
Only if, Belva thought as she heard her mother.
However, she herself was soon to realise Mikasa had helped him. All thanks to his ears reddening.
Both Jaeger twins found it hard to lie to their mother. Eren's ears immediately warmed up, whereas Belva's nose tip blushed the second she spoke anything besides the truth.
"Belva.", Carla called her daughter that had sneaked to the other side of the room.
She had already let down everything she had carried in and was about to go up hers and Eren's room.
"You brought in so little wood.", her mother stated with a frown.
She didn't use Mikasa's help.
"You had hours to collect it.", Carla went on.
Belva listened to her with furrowed eyebrows.
Eren would also have collected that much without Mikasa's help.
"I'm talking to you, young lady."
"And where are you going when it's time to eat?", Carla told her with her strict tone.
"I'm not hungry.", Belva replied with a single sentence. Her nose wouldn't redden as she really didn't wanna touch any food right now.
