It is time for the opening ceremony. Team USA starts boarding the boat, and Isabella wanted to find a spot on the main level. As she was looking for a spot that was open, she ended up running into someone and knocking them to the floor. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I should've been paying attention, and I wasn't, obviously. I'm so sorry!" Isabella said. She looked at who she knocked over and saw her. Kelsey Plum. She just knocked over THE Kelsey Plum, and now she feels bad and embarrassed that she wasn't paying attention.
"It's okay, really," Kelsey said with a smile. Isabella held out her hand and helped Kelsey up. "I'm Kelsey Plum."
"Isabella De La Garza." They were still holding hands.
"What sport do you play?" Kelsey asked.
"I do equestrian." Isabella answered.
"Really? That's the sport with horses, right?" Kelsey asked.
"Yeah. I brought Sergio, the horse I qualified with, and Buttercup my reserve horse." Isabella answered.
"I'm assuming a reserve horse is if the main horse gets injured?" Kelsey asked.
"Yeah." Isabella said.
"Well hopefully Sergio doesn't get injured." Kelsey said. A'ja Wilson walks up next to Kelsey.
"There you are, Plummy. Oh, who's this?" A'ja asked, looking at Isabella.
"This is Isabella. She is in equestrian." Kelsey said, finally letting go of Isabella's hand.
"That's so cool! It's nice to meet you. We play basketball." A'ja said.
"I know. I'm a big fan. I did my best to not fangirl over meeting Kelsey. I didn't want to scare her away. I mean, I already embarrassed myself enough accidentally running into her and knocking her down." Isabella said. She could feel her face turning red.
"Don't be embarrassed! Honestly, I should've been paying more attention. I started walking while looking behind me." Kelsey said.
"I was looking to the side, so it's my fault." Isabella said.
"How about a compromise. We agree that we both were at fault and then trade pins?" Kelsey suggested.
"Deal," Isabella says. She and Kelsey both smile and get out their bag with trading pins. "I had a custom pin made that has a horse, a female rider, and mine and Sergio's name at the bottom with the Olympic rings next to our names and the American flag to give to one person. Because I knocked you over, and you're one of my favorite basketball players, I'm going to give the pin to you." Isabella said. She got out the pin and handed it to Kelsey. Kelsey took it and looked at it.
"This is so cool! I don't have any custom pins, but I do have this really cool one with a basketball and Olympic rings." Kelsey said.
"This one is cool!" Isabella exclaimed. "A'ja, this one is for you," Isabella said, handing her a pin that has 'USA' and 'Equestrian' on it. A'ja hands her a different basketball pin. The three of them decide to get a picture together, and then Kelsey and Isabella get a picture together. "You'll have to send those to me!" Isabella said.
"Of course! You can put your number in my phone, and I'll send them to you." Kelsey said. She handed Isabella her phone, and Isabella put in her number. She handed Kelsey her phone back, and seconds later, Isabella's phone dings. She looks at her phone, and it's a random number with pictures attached. She knew it was Kelsey, and so she opened it and looked at the pictures quickly. She found it crazy that she now has THE Kelsey Plum's number.
"I think we're about to leave, so we should get to a spot in front." A'ja said.
"Is it okay if I tag along with you guys? I don't see anyone from my team anymore." Isabella said.
