The next morning, Isabella takes the bus to Versailles with her team after checking out of their rooms from the village. She unloaded her bags and sat them in a safe corner. As the rest of the team loads their horses and their supplies, Isabella did her chores. It took nearly an hour before everything was loaded and all of the horses were on their way to the airport. "I'm going to miss you guys." Isabella said with tears flowing down her face.
"We're going to miss you, too." Liz said. The team gave Isabella a group hug, and they all started tearing up.
"On the plus side, you still have the jumping team to keep you company." Caroline said.
"Yeah, but I don't know them that well. Plus, who am I supposed to talk about my dates with Kelsey?" Isabella asked causing the team to chuckle.
"We're all one call or text away." Boyd said. They nodded their head before they were called to board the bus. They said one final goodbye before boarding the bus. Isabella waved and watched them leave. She felt like she was being dropped off at college and was watching her family drive away. Isabella walked over to Sergio's stable and finished up her chores.
"What do you say we go for a little run?" she said to Buttercup. Buttercup moved her head up and down as if she was agreeing. Isabella smiled and wiped away her tears. She got Buttercup out of her stable and saddled her up. She put her phone and stuff in a secure place before getting on Buttercup and leaving. She was given a trail she could ride by her trainer while she stayed. She missed just riding without having to worry about time and such.
When she got back, she put everything up and made sure that Buttercup and Sergio had plenty of food and water. After she double checked everything, she grabbed her things and was able to get a taxi to the train station. Since she was going to be going back and forth multiple times a day, she decided to just get a train pass. She boarded the train and looked at her phone for the first time since before going on a ride. She saw she had messages from Kelsey and a couple missed calls.
Hey beautiful🥰 are you busy right now?
You must be since you haven't answered.
Are you okay?
Isabella decided to call Kelsey. She picks up on the third ring. "Hello?" Kelsey answered.
"Hey! Sorry I didn't answer. I was just on a ride to clear my head and didn't take my phone." Isabella said.
"Oh okay. I was just beginning to worry since you usually answer within an hour even if you're busy." Kelsey said.
"No yeah, I'm fine. Just took Buttercup on a ride." Isabella said.
"You said you were clearing your head? Anything you need to talk about?" Kelsey asked.
"I'll tell you when I get back. I'm on the train now." Isabella said.
"Okay. Well I'm glad you're fine and not hurt." Kelsey said.
"Yeah. See you soon?" Isabella asked.
"Yeah! I have practice in an hour, but I can see you after that." Kelsey said.
"Okay. Can't wait to see you!" Isabella said.
"I can't wait to see you either!" Kelsey said. They said goodbye to each other before hanging up. Isabella listened to the playlist her and Kelsey created together the rest of the train ride back to Paris. She also decided to post on Instagram nine photos and a video from the previous day. She included her and Sergio mid jump, a screenshot she got of her reaction to winning gold, her with the flag draped around her shoulders, the medaling ceremony, five from the celebration, and a video she got with Kelsey, A'ja, Breanna, Sabrina, Brittney, Diana, Ilona, and Liz.
