Your pov
Rushing out of the UA Sports Festival feild, you gathered all of your belongings quickly. You ran as fast as your legs could take you even with your quirk activated. You managed to reach the train station in a record time.
Quickly buying a ticket to Hosu City, you took a seat. It didn't take too long for you to reach your destination. But to you, it felt like an eternity. As your ride halted, you had to turn your phone on silent. Text messages from some of your friends lingered on the screen. You couldn't answer them, not yet anyway. Running once again into the hospital, you slammed your hands onto the front desk by accident. "Please, I need to know what room my father's in! His name is F/n L/n."
The front desk lady began typing away on her keyboard. "It appears he's in room 216, on the second floor. Taking the elevator would be the easiest way up there." Her eyes looked up at yours. A saddened glint laced them.
"Thank you!" You stepped back a little and bowed. Then you began rushing down the hallway and into the stairwell.
"No running in the halls...!"
Slamming the door open, you skipped every other step. Your mind was foggy. You couldn't think straight. Coming to a staggering stop in front of the second floor door, you slammed it open. Your eyes began tearing up as you saw your mother at the end of the hallway. Her own eyes were glistening in the soft hospital light. "Mama!" You yelled. As you jogged to her, you slightly tripped over your own feet.
Your mother caught you in her delicate arms. "Oh, sweetie..." She hugged you tightly.
Looking up at her own teary eyes, your heart clenched up. "How's Papa doing?" You ran out of her arms and rushed at the door, sliding it open aggressively. "Papa!" Your voice cracked.
"Y/n, please keep your voice down. And put on a mask!" Your mother pleaded.
You gasped as you saw your father. Wires lingered all over his body. A breathing mask was placed over his chiseled face. Bandages were strategically placed on his injured body. The sight alone could bring anyone to tears.
The doctor that operated on your father turned their head towards you. "The anesthesia has worn off, but he's going in an out of consciousness." The doctor sighed heavily, still looking at you and your mother. "If he had been brought in any later, I'm not so sure he would have made it..."
Tears erupted from your eyes as you put a surgical mask on. Due to his current state, no one could risk him getting sick. You got on your knees and hovered over the side of the bed. Wishing nothing more to be in the arms of your father. Unbeknownst to you, your father's eyes flickered open and closed before they fully opened. He looked down at you and moved his hand to be placed on yours.
"O-oh Papa.." You choked on a sob, trying your hardest to stay strong for your father.
His eyes locked onto your teary ones. "I'm sorry... I'm supposed to be a good role model for you and someone you look up to. Now look at me.." He breathed out slowly. Your father's voice was raspy, like he just woke up from a year-long nap. His own eyes became teary. "I'm so sorry.. I failed.. you." His eyes no longer looked into yours. His disappointment in himself grew stronger and stronger. Tears streamed out of your eyes. Your father's hand went up to your cheek, and you nuzzeled into it. It had been so long since he did this, and it made you cry even more.
