It didn't take me 3 months this time, more like 2 months. That's improvement!

Location: Garden, Wall Sina
Year: 851
Time: Early Spring

It was only a matter of time before something broke the pattern.

No matter how meticulously I controlled my surroundings, how tightly I reined in people like they were gears in a machine...

There were always factors outside my grasp.

But this world was different.

Unpredictable.

Brutal in ways my old one wasn't.

That's why I spent years doing nothing but learning quietly. I had to. I couldn't afford to be blindsided.

Not here.

The secrets of the Walls. The monarchy. The history of the Eldians. The world beyond the seas.

All of it. Before anything else, before any power move, I made sure I knew it all because knowledge is the only true leverage in a place like this.

Once I understood the game board, I started moving pieces.

I did what I always do: watched, calculated, and adapted.

And, for a while, everything went according to plan.

Until it didn't.

I died.

I remember the moment. My vision tunnelling, my consciousness fading.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt something close to... disorientation.

Then came Ymir.

Or rather, the connection to her.

"..."

It was like she was waiting for me...

"..."

She rebuilt me. My body. My consciousness.

Death was... reset.

I used her to my advantage.

And just like that, every lingering restraint evaporated.

I could be reckless. I could gamble pieces I never would've touched before.

Because I was untouchable.

Or at least, I thought I was.

"Is it because you're from another world?"

I look up.

She's standing in front of me, sunlight spilling across her shoulders, golden hair catching the breeze.

Historia.

"..."

"...What are you talking about?" I ask.

It's not a lie. It's a delay. I need to know how much she knows before I show my cards.

She tilts her head slightly, eyes narrowing—not with suspicion, but resolve.

"It's a yes or no question," she says quietly. "Is your mind like this... because you're from somewhere else?"

Somewhere else.

"..."

Don't tell me...

My eyes slide away from hers and scan the garden. Stone paths winding through dying hedges. A small bird is picking at a worm. No guards are within earshot.
