Chapter 6

Mitch's p.o.v.

I knelt in a bed of trampled wildflowers grass and scanned the tracks with a practiced eye. The prints told me the deer had been in the meadow only an hour before. My target, a small caribou fawn with a large on her side, was still in the herd. I was amazed she had made it so far without being killed. The sky was cloudy and misty. Just like my soul. For a normal mortal; it will be hard to see, but not for me. I had a sharp version and strong sense of smell. A light breeze stirred the air, which made my hair become alive.

Something caught my attention, breaking my thinking. I stood with quiet assurance in the dusky moonlight, then strode the forest towards a glen where I was sure the fawn would rest. The trees blocked the sky from the view and cast feathery shadows, blocking me with it. I looked at the tracks more closely making sure I was on the right tracks. After I made sure this was it, I gripped my ax tight. I slowly crept closer to my target, my ax was ready. All of my hard work has to be paid off. I took a last steadying breath and -- a roar of an animal shattered the night. The herd bolted. "Fudge," I cussed.

I lunged forward but stopped myself as I saw a furry creature. I gasped in fear. So the legend was true. The EnderDust bacca but why in the hell is it in our territory. Our contract specific says no human or creatures can't cross each other land. "State your reason you cross forbidden land you useless creature," my voice was wary. I was scared out of my mind this is the first time; I saw this creature. It gave me a smirk "You are one of those humans. Listen here runt doesn't talk shit if you don't mean it," the bacca growled. I was taken back with it's cussing at me. I grip my ax tighter than ever.

Suddenly he sniffs the air, his eyes turn black like a black stallion roaming through the night. "*growls softly * You smell good little boy are you still pure as white snow," he walked a little bit closer. Tears were threatening to spill. I can't die right now I still haven't met my soulmate yet. My soulmate I can't leave her behind. Who would protect her? I gather my courage and stood my ground. My ax once a baby blue now black and purple mixture. I'm ready to kill.

The EnderDust looked taken back but still came close. I back up just a bit but that was a mistake he charges full speed knocking me off of my standing position. He tried to bite my neck but luckily I had my ax near my chest. I buck up my hips so my ax can tear his flesh. He yelped in pain which lead him to dig his claws into my flesh. "JEROME," I yelled. The Ender suddenly grin and crush his claws together. Who is Jerome? I yelled out in pain. "No stop please, "help me please I need you who are you? Please, Jerome, come to save me I don't know who's Jerome but who cares right now. I just need him now. "Say goodnight little boy," the Bacca growled. I close my eyes ready to die. The last thing I saw was Vikk, Lachlan,&Rob running towards me.....

Jerome's p.o.v.

I grin at Preston's joke. He's really a good kid. He came out from his shell and from the closet. Brandon and Choco came out as well. I did not came out because I'm too scared because of my father; he wants me to find my female mate. If my object links to a male he will break the bond between us. If my soulmate was a male. My father is caring for the family but he's a monster if something happens to our village of the EnderDust tribe he will kill anything in his path. "Jerome buddy are you okay? " Preston asked. I felt dizzy of a sudden. Help me please I need you a voice echoed. I kneeled down with my hand on the side of my head. What is this voice? My amulet felt like its getting tighter choking me. Please, Jerome, come to save me "Mitchell..." I whispered as I blacked out.
