The Parent-Teacher Meetings

Eventually, Friday rolled around. It had loomed over Y/N the past few days, but now, she could finally get it over and done with.

After a long day teaching heroics, as well as the semesterly parent-teacher meetings, of course. All Might was growing increasingly busy with his own career, and rising tensions with a so-called 'League of Villains', so he was teaching almost no lessons. Nezu was more than pleased by feedback from other teachers, students, and parents on her teaching, so she was officially made the course leader for Heroics last week, taking over from All Might, giving her a nice pay bump. All Might still taught one lesson a week (only for 1-A for some reason, much to the displeasure of the other classes), but Y/N was picking up the slack and had far more on her plate. On top of patrol with Aizawa every other night. He had no objections to her not doing patrol every night, as even Aizawa could see she was being overworked. For other subjects, like Maths and History, were normally split evenly between teachers. However, for 'consistency' as Nezu put it, it was better to have one person do most of the work for Heroics.

"Miss L/N..."

"HUH?!" Y/N shot up from lying down, pulling out the knife from her utility belt in less than a second. Seems the 10-minute nap she wanted to have in between teaching 2-B and 1-A overran. She was already exhausted from patrol last night and needed every minute of sleep she could get.

"Woah!" The class was watching on, having found their teacher asleep on a gym mat. Kaminari had made the grave mistake of trying to wake her up, and was now far too close to the tip of her knife.

"I was just trying to wake you up..." Y/N finally shook her grogginess, her eyes darting around the room. Realising there was no threat, she sheathed her knife.

"...Sorry." She stood for a moment.

"-Oh, we have a lesson, don't we." Y/N broke the awkward silence. The class lined up against the wall.

"Right. So, as you know, parent-teacher meetings are tonight. Make sure you give me something good to tell them today, okay?" She paced back and forth, speaking to the students.

A resounding "Yes!" came from the kids.

"For today, we're going to continue the fights we had last lesson with the 'on/off' training."

Pleased with the progress the class was making with hand-to-hand combat, Y/N had started 'on/off' training with them last week, putting it to the test during their daily lesson with her.

The idea was that she initially would show them how to incorporate their quirks into their hand-to-hand combat skills, using quirks as an extra tool in their arsenal, rather than their only form of fighting. A quirk was to be treated as the same way a punch or a kick was- just another move. Once they learned to incorporate it, Y/N would watch the fights, saying the students name to instruct the students to 'turn on' or off their quirks, very quickly in the middle of a fight to see how fast and effectively they can handle the change in a fight.

"However, there's a twist. Aizawa." She called. Their co-homeroom teacher entered, looking bored as ever.

"I hope you know I skipped a nap for this." He added groggily.

"Aizawa will be periodically erasing your quirks during your fights, with no warning, and for an unspecified amount of time. First fight is Tokoyami and Todoroki." The pair walked up to the middle of the room, taking their positions. Aizawa stayed in the corner of the room, putting on his goggles.

"For example, I'm not going to be saying 'Todoroki, on' to tell you to start using your quirk. You're going to have to assess the change yourself and adjust yourself accordingly." They both nodded.
