Taehyung stood at the edge of the yacht, the cold wind whipping through his hair as the Russian boss, Ivanov, stood across from him, a smug smirk playing on his lips. The vast, dark ocean stretched out behind them, the churning waves reflecting the tension in the air.Taehyung's expression was unreadable, his face a mask of calm indifference despite the storm brewing inside him. His mind was not on the deal or the dangerous situation he was in, but on Y/N. She was the one constant thought anchoring him, the only person who made him fear the idea of not surviving this night. For the first time in his life, Taehyung truly wanted to live-not for himself, but for her.
"You see, Mr. Kim," Ivanov began, his voice dripping with condescension, "I've found a more profitable arrangement. I don't need your deal anymore, and I've already made the necessary alliances." His smirk widened, clearly pleased with himself.
Taehyung signed inwardly. He should have anticipated this. Jimin was a formidable opponent, always one step ahead, always finding new ways to gain the upper hand. It didn't surprise Taehyung that Jimin had managed to shift the Russians to his side, but fear was not something Taehyung was accustomed to feeling. He remained as still as stone, his gaze unwavering and cold, showing no sign of the turmoil within. Only one thing mattered to him now-Y/N. The thought of her was the only thing that kept his heart steady, his resolve firm. Death didn't scare him, but the thought of leaving her alone did.
Ivanov's voice cut through the air, breaking Taehyung from his thoughts. "Let's end this, shall we? You know how impatient I can be, Mr. Kim." With a swift motion, Ivanov pulled out a gun and aimed it directly at Taehyung. Jiho, who had been standing nearby, tensed in alarm, his eyes widening as he tried to move, but Ivanov men were quick, grabbing Jiho and holding him back, preventing him from intervening.
A satisfied smirk spread across Ivanov's face as he relished the control he thought he had over the situation. "Goodbye, Taehyung," he sneered, his finger hovering over the trigger. "I must say, it was a pleasure doing business with you, but you missed your chance. You should have known better than to cross me." His chuckle echoed through the night, the sound grating on Taehyung's nerves.
But Taehyung's lips lifted in a knowing smirk, confusing Ivanov. "And you should have known," Taehyung began, his voice low and menacing, "that I always keep my promises." His gaze turned deadly serious, his eyes narrowing as he locked onto Ivanov's. "I told you when we first met that I despise betrayal. And I also told you what I do to those who betray me."
Ivanov's smirk faltered slightly, unease creeping into his expression as he tried to decipher the meaning behind Taehyung's words. But Taehyung's glare was unyielding, his presence commanding and filled with an intensity that sent a shiver down Ivanov's spine.
"I give no mercy," Taehyung finished, his voice cold as ice, his gaze never wavering.
In that moment, a signal was given-a subtle nod from Taehyung-and in an instant, the yacht was swarmed with Taehyung's men, who had been lying in wait, hidden in the shadows, ready to strike. The tables turned rapidly as Ivanov's men were overpowered, their weapons stripped from them, and the chaos unfolded around them.
