The Doctor removes his sonic shades and puts them in his inside pocket then feels for his sonic screwdriver and turns on the device that's attached to his temple. He hears a rumbling sound and pipes up.

"Cardinal Angelo? I could do with your help here," the Doctor says, the shadow of a robed figure casted across a bookcase. It's arm is very thin and the fingers appear quite long.

"I'm not absolutely sure how this is going to work. Either it's going to temporarily fix my eyesight, or it's going to burn out my brain. Just, er, give me a mo," he turns it on and power surges through the wires into his head, crackling around the electrodes. He winced out in pain only for a moment and slumps.

☆ Nardole {Y/n} and Bill ☆

In a busy office a woman goes to get water from the the dispenser. Nardole opens the door to the bottom closet and enters, the two following after.

"Hello?" The woman says confused.

"Hello," Nardole replies.

"Who are you? Do you have clearance for Floor Three?"

"Floor Three of what?"

"Of what?"

"The Pentagon," the Woman replies. The three stare at her wide eyed and begin to retreat back into the closet into a bright white room. Eleven bright oval portals circle the room.

"So the Pentagon is through there," Bill points.

"Yeah," Nardole nods.

"And, and, and the Vatican is through there," Bill says pointing into another light.

"Yeah," Nardole says, poking his head into one of the lights.

"We're definitely gonna get lost," {Y/n} comments watching Nardole, squinting her eyes at him.

"What is this? How is this possible?" Bill questions.

"Alien technology. Let's see what else they've got," Nardole says walking to another light.

"Let's just remember to be careful," {Y/n} says, being cut off by Nardole.

"Ooo, Come take a look at this!" He beams. Bill follows intrigued.

"Or we can continue nosing around," {Y/n} sighs, walking in and looking around. A French man in a white lab coat comes out of a door, swigging a wine bottle.

"Oh, hello. Are you coming?" He asks.

"Coming where?" {Y/n} questions.

"We're all in the cafeteria. You mustn't miss it,"

"Why?"

"We'll all go together when we go" the man laughs "come on!" They walk past the sign that says CERN.

Time skip

The Doctor opens his eyes again and sees a blurry light. He removes the electrodes from his temple and hears footsteps approaching.

"Cardinal, it worked. I can see. Not well enough, not yet. The thing about the universe is, whatever you need, you can always borrow, as long as you pay it back. I just borrowed from my future. I get a few minutes of proper eyesight, but I lose something. Maybe all my future regeneration will be blind. Maybe I won't regenerate ever again. Maybe I'll drop dead in twenty minutes. But I will be able to read this!" He puts his hand down on the Veritas page "now, I have no idea how that is going to affect me, so I'd be a bit stupid to reject the precautions provided. Could you help me, please? Could you help me?" The figure in red helps the Doctor buckle the leather straps around his wrists.
