D A K A R I
Tonight was the night of the celebration I was having for the opening of my clinic, and at this moment I was heading for Kaya's house to pick her up. Will was with me.
"Where is you going? The event is the other way." William announced out, telling me I failed to inform him that Kaya would be driving with us.
"I'm picking up Kaya." I disclosed, and even as brief as my response was, in the corner of my eyes I could see his interest regarding the topic growing much to my dismay.
"I ain't know she was coming."
"Mhm, when I told her about the clinic she immediately asked me about an opening party and I told her I would be having one and she said she wanted to come."
"When she told you that?" He inquired, and I shrugged while searching my brain for the answer.
"Uh three weeks ago I think, when we went out."
"Three weeks ago? Ain't that around the time you had a meeting with...him." He professed, reminding me of my successful meeting with Don Gallo last night and the double date I went on with my wife and her friends.
"Yeah, it was actually on the day, but I had dinner with her friends before going to the casino with her." I informed him, and my response only added more bricks to his interest, building it up.
"Was Lea there?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I heard she was talking about yo little hookup with some people, so she could have told Kaya." He expounded, and his words had me sighing in both annoyance and stress because I knew it would be extremely bad for Kaya if word about my moment of weakness got out since we were supposed to be portraying the role of husband and wife.
Maybe jealous wasn't the only thing she was feeling that night, maybe she was also upset and worried about her image?
"She did." I confirmed, giving him more details about last night while I turned onto Kaya's street.
"Well, damn, how did that go down?"
I didn't answer his question immediately as I was contemplating even letting him receive more knowledge about my current dilemma because it would only feed his delusions about the future of Kaya and I's relationship...that I was kinda delusional about too because she made me feel like no other.
"...She ignored me for a good while, but I managed to get her talking."
"So you're good now?" He queried, and I shrugged to show him I was unsure.
Last time I was unable to continue my conversation with Kaya because she wasn't ready.
She wasn't ready to completely let her guard down and express why she was jealous in the first place and that was fine, everyone worked at different paces, but I knew jealousy stemmed from insecurity, so what was she insecure about?
And what could I do to help remove this insecurity?
"I think so."
"You think? Man, you leaving something out."
"What I'm leaving out ain't yo business." I declared, pulling the car to a halt the second I arrived in front of Kaya's house.
"Alright." He voiced, deciding not to push the topic as I opened my car door after turning off the vehicle.
"You coming?" I asked Will, who nodded, exiting the car and closing his door the same time as me before beginning a journey towards Kaya's house that I greeted with a few presses of the doorbell until I heard her footsteps approaching the door.
