Bengaluru’s night was alive with energy, the dark sky above contrasting with the vibrant city lights below.
I let myself get lost in the music, dancing with my friends—Anika, Shraddha, Kunal, Ishaan, and Siya.
The beat was infectious, and we laughed, sang, and twirled around as if the world beyond this club didn’t exist.
The lights flashed in time with the music, bright and electric, but even as I moved with the rhythm, a strange feeling crept over me. Someone was watching me. I could feel it—eyes boring into me, tracking my every move.
I turned slightly, trying not to be obvious, scanning the crowd. All I saw were bodies moving in sync with the music, lost in their own fun. "It's probably nothing" I told myself, but the sensation lingered, like a cold breath on my neck.
I felt the exhaustion hit me suddenly. The adrenaline from dancing started to fade, and my legs ached. “I need a break” I murmured to myself and made my way toward the sitting area.
**Author's Pov**
The sitting area was a stark contrast to the dance floor. The warmth of the crowd and the pulsing energy of the music seemed to disappear as soon as Anya stepped into the dimly lit corner of the club. The air was cooler here, unnaturally so, and the lights were low, casting long shadows that danced in the corners of the room.
The sense of being watched never left her. If anything, it grew stronger, as if the darkness itself was following her every step.

As I walked further into the sitting area, a sudden gust of cold air hit me. A shiver ran down my spine. "Why is it so cold here?" I ignored the discomfort and sat down at the bar, my mind still playing tricks on me.
The bartender noticed me and leaned in. “Ma'am, would you like to have anything?”
I gave him a tired smile. “Umm...maybe a juice will do.”
He nodded and started preparing my drink. I glanced around, the unease still lingering. It felt... off. The air felt heavy, colder than it should be, and I couldn’t explain why.
Trying to shake off the feeling, I awkwardly asked the bartender, “Why is it so cold in here? ”
He glanced at me, his expression unreadable, and said nothing. His silence only added to the creeping sensation in my gut.
Then, out of nowhere, a cold hand rested on my shoulder.
I flinched and spun around, but when I saw Ishaan standing there, I let out a breath of relief.
“Are you tired, Anya? ” His voice was soft, but I could sense his concern.
I nodded. “Yeah, I'm pretty tired.”
Ishaan sat beside me, his presence calming. “You've been dancing for hours” he teased gently.

From the shadows, dark eyes watched the exchange, tracking every movement with precision. The figure remained hidden, waiting, as the lights flickered faintly in the distance. There was a calculated patience in the way they moved, staying just out of sight.
**Anya's Pov**
“Your drink is ready ma'am” the bartender said, placing the juice in front of me. Ishaan ordered a glass of wine for himself, and we sat there in silence, sipping our drinks.
I couldn’t help but glance over my shoulder again. Nothing. Just the low hum of the club, the cold air making me feel on edge.
Out of nowhere, Anika burst into the sitting area. “Come on, guys! Get your ass up....Our favorite song is about to play!" Her excitement was infectious.
I sighed, exhaustion pulling at me, but I stood up anyway. “Okay, let's go” I said, grabbing my juice and following her back to the dance floor, Ishaan trailing behind.
The music pounded in my chest, and the crowd had only grown bigger. My head was starting to spin, the tiredness catching up with me. “Guys, I think we should head out now. It's getting late, and i'm really tired” I said, trying to speak over the music.
**Author's Pov**
As Anya and her friends moved toward the exit, the figure in the shadows stirred. The game had only just begun. Hidden from view, the stalker’s gaze never left Anya, tracking her every movement as she left the safety of the crowd and stepped into the night.
**Anya's Pov**
The moment we stepped out of the club, the chill in the air became even more apparent. I couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. Every few steps, I glanced over my shoulder, but there was nothing out of the ordinary—just the quiet streets and the dim lights of Bengaluru’s nightlife.
“Anya, are you alright?” Shraddha asked, noticing my constant glances.
“I don't know” I admitted. “I just have this weird feeling that someone is watching me.”
Kunal laughed, trying to lighten the mood. “Who would be watching you?..... A ghost?”
“I'm serious” I said, feeling a little irritated by his casual dismissal.
Siya chimed in, trying to comfort me. “It's probably just exhaustion, Anya. Let's get you home.”
I sighed, knowing they meant well, but the feeling wouldn’t go away. As I looked out the car window, I caught a glimpse of a figure standing in the shadows, watching us. I couldn’t make out the face, but the silhouette was unmistakable.
I quickly looked away, panic rising in my chest. But when I glanced back again, the figure was gone.
"Maybe I really am hallucinating"
