The next day Emma noticed Bella was acting weird
Emma: Hey
Bella looks at Emma
Emma: You okay?
Bella: Y-yeah
Emma: Okay, we should head to class
As Emma walk into the school, Emma notices Tyler staring at her. She tries to ignore him. She wonders what he's thinking, why he's always watching her so intently. Emma continues down the hallway, heading towards her locker. She tries to act casual, but it's hard not to feel Tyler's gaze on her, following her every movement. It's like he's always there, lurking in the shadows or around the corner. Tyler approaches Emma as she gets her books from her locker. He has a cocky smile on his face, and his eyes are fixed on her. It's a look that Emma has gotten used to, but it still makes her feel uneasy. Tyler leans against the locker next to hers, casual as ever
Tyler: Hey Swan, how you doing?
He says, his voice dripping with charm. Emma closes her locker door and turns to face him, trying to act nonchalant
Emma: I'm fine. What do you want, Tyler?
Tyler cocks his head to the side, his smile widening. He takes a step closer to Emma, invading her personal space a bit
Tyler: Can't a guy just say hi to a pretty girl?
Emma takes a step back, maintaining her distance. She rolls her eyes, trying to play it cool
Emma: Yeah, sure. Hi. Now what do you actually want?
Tyler reaches out, casually placing a hand on Emma's locker, effectively trapping her there
Tyler: Easy, Swan. Don't get all snippy on me. I just wanted to chat
Emma bristles at the way he's blocking her way. She doesn't like the fact that he's towering over her, trying to intimidate her
Emma: Well, I don't have time to chat right now, Tyler. I have to get to class
Tyler leans in a bit closer, his face just inches from hers
Tyler: Come on Emma, can we talk, please
Emma feels a mix of annoyance and intimidation. Tyler is clearly not backing down, and she's aware of how strong he is compared to her. But she's not about to let him know that
Emma: I said no, Tyler. What part of that are you not getting?
Tyler holds up his hands, feigning innocence
Tyler: Whoa, easy there Swan. No need to get all worked up. I just thought we could have a little chat, that's all
Emma knows that Tyler is trying to get a rise out of her. She crosses her arms, her expression hardening
Emma: Chat about what, exactly?
Tyler deep breath and leans in more closer to Emma
Tyler: Do you remember at the field trip at the greenhouse That. I say I like you
Emma's eyes widen, but she tries to keep her face unreadable. She remembers the field trip, and Tyler's confession, clear as day. She doesn't know how to feel about it
Emma: Yeah, I remember
Tyler grins, obviously pleased that she remembers
Tyler: Good. Because I still mean it, you know. I like you, Emma. A lot
He takes another step closer, looming over her. His voice lowers to a whisper, and he gazes at her intently. Emma feels her heart rate quicken, a strange mix of anxiety and confusion swirling inside of her. Tyler's presence is both intense and intimidating, and his words have the effect he probably wants: to make her feel flustered and off-balance
