There were no tears cried when Robert passed. Instead a celebration so grand was held in Garretts honor.

Tywin was disappointed that he was named master of coin and not hand but Garrett countered that Ned did well when Robert failed. Ned hesitated, knowing it was a bribe.

Ned was surprised. He knew garrett knew that he knew about joffrey. Yet garrett wanted him close. Maybe it was a keep your enemies close situation. Maybe garrett more clever than he led on.

Barristan remained commander, Tywin master of coin, Stannis master of ships, Varys master of whispers, ned stark hand of the king. garrett requested a younger maester be brought in to help their old and slightly terrifying maester, in hopes that the citadel might have some better options.

Master of laws however... Renly wasnt sad when he was released from his position. Said he never really did anything for it anyways, there were never any new laws and all the old ones were boring. He didnt blame garrett one bit.

Garrett instructed that tywin get them out of debt quickly, he didnt like to owe anyone anything.

"Lord Estermont."

He was hoping for a formal marriage proposal for his daughter Vaera, the newly appointed king needed a queen after all.

"I would like to offer you a place on my council. I have spoken at great lengths with my uncles and grandsire and they all believe you would be a skilled master of coin." Garrett remarked. He was speechless. "My lord?"

"Yes, yes this is an honor!" He agreed.

Garrett sat down with Jon next handing over a scroll. Surprised Jon opened it.

"From this day until your last day, you are Jon Stark, son of Ned Stark, the Warden of the North."

Legitimization is the process by which a bastard receives the rights and social status of trueborn offspring by royal decree. Jon stared back at Garrett.

"I promised you didnt I?" Garrett remarked, Jon hugged him before saying he had to find Vaera, he was going to marry her this moment.

"Now onto business." garrett remarked. "My uncle Tyrion." He looked to Ned. "You will write to your wife because I dont believe you asked her to abduct my uncle. I dont think you that stupid. So you will command your wife to release Tyrion this instant and all will be forgiven."

cersei didnt like that ned was still on the council, that he was still hand. Tyrion was taken, Jaime had run off and yet Garrett was calm. He didnt wear the crown but he sat the seat, his seat, head of the table. Sansa thought he looked so handsome.

Ned wrote but it was no use.

"Write to your son too." Garrett suggested.

"Robb?"

"Yes." Garrett agreed. "My uncle and grandfather are ready to start a war against your wife for stealing Tyrion. I dont think Robb wants to risk his head for going up against the crown."  Ned wrote to Robb and now all they had to do was wait.

"Margaery, might I speak with your grandmother?"

This is the moment she was waiting for.

"Garlan?" Olenna questioned.

"Ser Barristan is older, still a skilled warrior but I have heard that your grandson Garlan is one of the best. I would like him to train under Barristan and be my commander of the kings guard when barristan retires." Garrett answered.

"This isnt about Margaery?"

"Garlan." Garrett repeated. He was going to appease everyone. He was going to get loyalty from the Estermonts, the Tyrells, the Velaryon's through Aeloras need to be part of the action at the capital and he was still working on a position for the swyifts. It would give him time to think things through.

"Well he would love that." Olenna confirmed.

"Wonderful, if you could send word," Garrett held out the scroll. "I would like him here sooner rather than later if possible.''
