Following Yoru's gift of the hickeys, Y/n started hiding them with a black scarf that Aki had given him long ago. Y/n simply excused himself to his teachers by saying he had a minor cold, but his friends isn't buying his cheap reason. Y/n and his elder brother, Denji, are currently walking down a hallway together, heading to their separate classes. As they walked, the sun welcomed them with its rays through the vertical windows along the walls.
Denji, who was relaxed, sipped soda peacefully, while his younger brother, Y/n, had two hands in his pockets and his back bent in boredom.
Y/n's mood is the polar opposite of Denji's; first years only got test papers, while second and third years did not. This is unfair in scarred boy's eyes, but he was unwilling to dispute with the principal about it.
Aside from his vigilante status, he was just a regular student, therefore he didn't want to take the chance of being expelled. After drinking the refreshing soda, Denji blew out a burp and glanced at his younger brother, who was wearing a grumpy expression.
"What's with the scarf lil bro?" Denji inquired curiously "I have small cold" Y/n replied, not batting an eye on the blonde and focusing his eyes in front "Y'know, if you had a fever, you could just take the day off" Denji recommend "Big bro, we first years literally have to finish test papers left to right" Y/n commented dryly "The unfair part in my opinion, is that only we first years were given test papers. You, second and third years were not" Y/n grunted.
"Chillax, I'm pretty sure you can solve 'em all" Denji took another sip of cola before patting Y/n's shoulder. Y/n merely stared at Denji, hearing the blonde express those words as if solving the test papers appears easy to him, secretly irked Y/n "Easy for you to say, my incompetent ass still suck at math" Y/n stoically said.
"Maybe you should read more math books?" Their attention was drawn to Yoshida by his footsteps and voice.
"What do you want?" Denji asked with slightly grumpy face "Ouch, Denji. Can't I just say hello?" Yoshida chuckled in response. Denji merely stared at Yoshida with judgemental look "Books are boring, I don't want to spend endless hours reading 'em!" Y/n groaned and gave a big yawn at the conclusion "Wait, you complain about the test but you hardly study?" Denji turns at Y/n, and his expression contorts into complete puzzlement. Y/n zoned out, responding simply with silence to Denji's question.
"No wonder you whine like a dumbass" Denji sweatdropped "Stop talking. Would you rather spend hours reading a dozen math books if you were in my shoes?" Y/n hissed at Denji, akin to a feral cat. Denji fell silent at his younger brother's words; the blonde couldn't envision himself reading towers of math books in the library; it would be an awful nightmare for him if he put himself in that situation.
"See? We are not so different" Y/n remarked, Yoshida, who watched quietly, couldn't help but chuckle at the ironic interactions between brothers. Denji, unable to respond to the truth that was powering Y/n's words, could only roll his eyes in frustration and hurl the empty can of soda into the dustbin near them "Whatever, let's get to class before the bell rings" Denji dismisses with audible sigh left his lips. Sometimes the blonde wishes he could win an argument with his younger brother.
