"Why are you being so difficult?"
-

In the hallway you're met with familiar faces from when you were at Jays penthouse. You look at them with a frown as they follow, watching as you're being dragged like a rag doll, stumbling slightly after Jay.

"Let me go." You say trying to pry his grip off you, but he ignores you.

He walks in through a door and you're met with what looks like a sort of restaurant kitchen. The few people in there scatters immediately as Joker walks in.

"Let me go!" You tell Jay, but he doesn't. Walking further in he stops and finally lets you go turning to you. He crosses his arms and looks at you with a stern expression.

"You are going to get your friends and go home. Then pack your bags and leave the city."

"No, I'm not." You tell him, rubbing the spot he had grabbed you on the arm.

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not." You turn and look for an exit, seeing his henchmen covering the doors and Jay sighs.

"This place is not for someone like you." He says. You turn and look at him in disbelief.

"Someone like me?" You've had enough of this, now you're pissed. "You don't even know me anymore Jay! You think I'm this innocent little girl you knew when we were kids, but no.. Wake up! That was years ago! Since then, I've changed. I lost my father to drugs and I'm slowly losing my mother to schizophrenia. I've been hurt and backstabbed by friends I trusted. Jay, i lost my best friend to suicide!" You shout, getting all your frustration that has built up these last few days out finally. You take a deep shaky breath. "And I've lived with so much guilt after they told me you killed yourself, i blamed myself for not being there for you. I've lived with regret ever since, regret that I couldn't save you, regret for not telling you that i loved you! I felt like I was the one who killed you. I wanted to kill myself, because I was so desperate to see you again. I lost you, Jason! I lost the person I loved when I needed him the most." You all but scream at him, your voice cracking at the end. Tears are streaming down your eyes at this point. "And just a few days ago, I find out he didn't just not kill himself, no he didn't die at all and he wouldn't even bother to tell me."

Jay stares at you, in shock, though he tries to hide it. He couldn't stop himself from winching slightly when you said you had wanted to kill yourself, just to see him again. His henchmen is standing now frozen with wide eyes different places in the kitchen, watching the whole scene unfold.

His thoughts and emotions running wild inside, but he refuses to let it show. You loved him. The person he was so hopelessly in love with, loved him too. Well, used too. If he had just come for you, what life would you have, he wonder. He wanted to, but his father's words ran through his head constantly, they still do.
You're nothing.
You don't deserve her, she will find someone way better than you, someone strong and good that can protect her and take care of her.
You're pathetic.
You're not what she needs or deserves, and you never will be.
He had decided to leave you be, until he became everything his father said he wouldn't be.

But living with constant doubt and self-hatred, the words of his father echoing in his head, he eventually slowly lost himself. And when it snapped, it made him crazy. Jay was still smart and resourceful, so he became who he is today. He became rich and strong, but when he thought he had what it took to give you what you deserved, he realised he wasn't good. He was a criminal, he was evil, the villain in everyone's story. And you deserved better than that. So his father was right. He gave up and decided to leave you be, for a better life, a life without him.

But never in a million years had he thought that you could suffer in your life too, without him. That you would go so low as to consider something that awful, just for the chance to see him again. Did he really mean that much to you, as much as you meant to him. And now, he couldn't help but blame himself for everything that happened. If he was there, he could've protected you from everything.

No response is making you even more angry.

"Fine! I'm leaving and you don't have to deal with me ever again, I don't even want to see you again. But Jay, I'm NOT leaving this job, or this city. So you're just gonna have to suck it up and live with it!" You tell him, huffing stubbornly and turning toward the door you came from.

"It's not-" He starts, but you interrupt him and turn back to him.

"Safe! I know! I know it's not safe here, but nowhere is really safe if you think about it Jay."

"Do not interrupt me." He growls and you roll your eyes.

"Just let me be Jay, I want this job." You plead.

He looks into your eyes, his mouth set in a tight line, jaw clenched. You wanted him to leave you. What he had done everyday for years now. When he doesn't say anything you turn to leave again, heading for the door you came in through. He stares at the back of your head. Wondering if he is able to leave you be again. As you're about to reach for the handle, he makes a decision.

"You're coming with me." He says and you turn to him.

"What?" You frown.

"She's coming with us." He says now addressing Jonny, who nods in affirmation.

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are." Jay says.

"No, I'm not." You say and look around for another exit when Jonny blocked the one you came from. But the ones around cover the few possibilities to escape.

"Why are you being so difficult?" Jay asks with a sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I'm not." You cross your arms, looking at him.

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not."

"No, you're not."

"Yes, I am.. Wait, what?" You say and he wears a smug grin on his face. He then nods to Jonny, who was watching the interaction with amusement.

He takes out a syringe and walks toward you. Your eyes widen in panic as you look between the man walking toward you with a syringe and Jay watching you.

"You're gonna make a fuss." He shrugs, answering your unasked question.

"You can't be serious." You put your hands up and back away from the man, but you soon collide with a counter behind you. When you try to stop the hand with the syringe, Jonny grabs both your hands with his larger one.

You squirm away from the syringe and move constantly, and with both hands occupied Jonny looks to Wade who then comes over grabbing your chin and jaw, holding you still. And before you know it, you hiss from the stinging pain in your neck. Once they let you go, you put your hand where he injected something into your neck and look to Jay in disbelief.

"Jay, what did you do? You can't just.. What.. What is this? I.. I can't.." You breathe heavily and reach for the kitchen counter to catch yourself as you're starting to loose balance from the dizziness. With blurred vision you see a figure with green hair grab when your legs give out and lifts you up bridal-style, then fall unconscious in his arms.
