The Rising Suns garage was filled with the usual hustle and bustle of a team working on their cars and having fun. Suddenly, they heard a knock on the garage door. Mingi decided to open it, revealing the Speed Dragons standing outside. The three men bowed their heads.
"Hello," Seonghwa greeted, his voice polite. "We would like to challenge you on a rematch."
The Rising Suns members exchanged surprised glances. They hadn't expected the Speed Dragons to come to them with a challenge. Well, Hongjoong was the only one who knew that would happen because Hongjoong and Seonghwa had discussed it the previous night.
"A race?" Yunho raised a brow.
"Yes. We want to settle the score between our teams," Seonghwa explained.
"We'll think about it," Hongjoong said. "We have to discuss this as a team."
"We understand. Please, take your time," the Speed Dragons nodded.
With that, the Speed Dragons left the garage. The Rising Suns were now faced with a difficult decision. They sat down to discuss the challenge. The team was split in two. Some members were okay with taking the challenge, while others were hesitant.
Hongjoong leaned towards accepting, thanks to his relationship with Seonghwa. He saw it as an opportunity for their rivals to prove that they had moved on from the past. But he also knew that accepting the challenge too fast could reveal his relationship too early. He had to be careful with his words.
As the team continued to debate, Hongjoong decided to play it cool. He pretended to be undecided, even though his heart was set on accepting the challenge. He had to convince his teammates to agree. It would be a tough sell, but he was determined to make it happen.
"Okay. Let's put it to a vote," Hongjoong called. "Everyone writes down their answer."
The team members nodded in agreement. They knew that was a serious matter. And they needed to decide on a team. After a few minutes, Hongjoong collected the votes. He counted them carefully, his heart pounding in his chest. When it finished, he announced the results.
"We are accepting the challenge," Hongjoong said.
After the Rising Suns decided to accept the challenge, Yeosang contacted the Speed Dragons to finalize the details. Hongjoong and Seonghwa spoke over the phone to decide on the terms of their race.
"We accept your challenge," Hongjoong said.
"We are glad to hear," Seonghwa replied.
"Do you have any requirements?" Hongjoong asked further.
After that question, the two leaders spoke about the terms. They agreed to do the race on neutral grounds. Jongho proposed to contact his friends from the Night Runners about that. Then, they decided upon the date and the time.
As Hongjoong hung up the phone, he turned to Yeosang, returning it. Then, Joong faced Jongho. The rookie was on the phone with his friend, and they were discussing the situation. Chanhee had to speak with his leader about it, but it was almost a sure deal. After all, the Night Runners owed a favour to the Rising Suns.
...
The two teams stood at the top of the mountain, their cars roaring. The air was filled with excitement, as the crowd gathered around, eager to witness the race. Everyone was in high spirits.
Seonghwa stepped forward, his teammates following. The three men bowed to their opponents, thanking them for coming. Hongjoong nodded. The two leaders shook their hands before the race. As usual, they agreed to start with the uphill race. The representatives of each team were San and Mingi.
