"Happy birthday!" Gibsie exclaims excitedly shoving a gift in my hands. I roll my eyes, but give him an indulgent smile. He has a bright wide smile looking at me like I hung the moon. I give him a quick peck on his cheek, before ripping open the gift. After I tore the wrapping paper, I freeze when I spot what is inside. There in the box was the four Harry Potter books. My face transforms into a wide smile. I place the books on the bed, before turning to look at Gibsie. His bright smile dimmers a little and I see him grow a little anxious. I don't let him squirm for too long before I through myself at him wrapping my arms around him. He takes no time before returning my hug enthusiastically.

"So, how does it feel to finally be thirteen?" he asks as he pulls away.

"I don't know, but I know it feels great being older than you." I say smirking at him. He rolls his eyes before saying, "Oh yes you are such an old lady." I let out snorted laugh, and softly shove his shoulder. He is such an eejit. My eejit. I feel his arm go around my shoulder me pulling me backwards. I let out a laugh at the sudden motion. I turn resting my head on his chest, and his arm encircle around me. I let out a sigh closing my eyes finally for the first time this week I feel at peace. He seems to be the only one in my life to bring me peace.

"Best birthday," I whisper smiling sightly.

"I'm glad," he says tightening his grip on me.

That is how we spend my birthday. In each other's embrace enjoying each other's company. I didn't want to ever leave, but I had other plans. With Mattheo, or as I call him Theo. Well in case I want to annoy him then I call him Matty. You see no one knows about him. Not Gibsie and not even Joey. It's not that I am ashamed like Theo once asked it's because I am selfish, I do not want to share him. He is the one person who understands a part of me that no one else knows. I think he is the only one in the world who knows me, and everything that has happened to me. He is the one I would call if I needed to hide a body. He is my best friend and brother all tied up into one.

I check the time to see that it is 5:34 pm. I let out a sigh and push myself off the bed leaving Gibsie looking at me confused. "Sorry Gibs, but I do have birthday plans," I says as I put my shoes back on. I him ask with who, but I just respond with friends. I know I should tell him, but if I do then he will ask how we met and that is something I do not want him to know. Maybe I will tell him in the future, but not now. I leave the house making it to the bus stop as my phone rings. I look down and see It is Theo calling me as I take my seat on the bus. I answer it and am greeted with his usual mischief filled voice. "So, you coming?" He said as I hear him running and soon after a door slam shut. I wait to answer until I hear him slow down and hear his breath calm down. "Yes, I am on the way, and why are you sprinting?"

"My dear father had some business plans tonight, and wouldn't take me saying no for an answer so I ran out." He says a little out of breath.

"Oh, listen if you want to go with your dad, you can-" I start to say but am interrupted by him.

"No! It is fine I want to hang with you," he says sounding a little frantic.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask as some random passenger whacks me with his backpack.

"Nothing, Nothing," he says letting out a breath. "I just would rather spend your birthday with you than with my father and his stuck-up friends." He says huffing out a laugh that doesn't sound like he is okay. I ignore it though because as much as he knows me, I also know him. He doesn't want to talk about it. So, I move on, "Okay good! Meet you outside the theaters?" He says yes before hanging up leaving me to my thoughts. Thoughts of Gibsie, Joey, Tadhg, Ollie, and of course my father.

-----------------

I make my way over to Theo who is leaning on the brick wall of the theaters watching as people pass him by. He goes to put his cigarette in between his lips, but I grab from his fingers and stomp on it. I look up at his affronted look and smirk at it. "Smoking kills," I say as I transform my smirk to a smile.

He glares at me before saying, "I thought I told you that's why I do it." I try to keep my smile on my face when he says it. I know he doesn't mean it, but the words make me feel a shiver go through me. I slap his shoulder and grab the box out of his other hand. "Now let's see what y9ou got me." I say as I rip the wrapping paper. I see a box that looks fancy. I open that one to see a charm bracelet. There are four charms attached to it that resembles parts of our friendship. A raindrop, sunflower, a metal bat, and a dandelion. (You all will figure out why they are important later on.) My face widens into a blinding smile involuntary. I place the charm bracelet on my wrist, before throwing myself at him. He freezes for a second like he normally does before unclosing his arms around me. I pull back after a sec.

"You like it?" he says smiling nervously. I raise my eyebrows stopping myself from rolling my eyes.

"Of course I do," I say smiling at him.

He seems to deflate and gesture me to the theaters. He then goes up to the ticket booth to buy our tickets. In time we in the theaters getting ready to watch the fast and furious movie. That is how I spent my birthday. Away from all the drama pushing it all to deal with until tomorrow.

Note: I was planning to show you a flashback to when her and Theo first meet, but decided to give you all just a birthday chapter.
