Chapter 2

Arryn

My nightmare stared out like this.

Darkness, it was all I see around me. Spinning around me as I tried to move my body, then a light broke through, revealing an old dirty abandoned warehouse which my body seemed to be attracted to. Like a ghost, I my body is transparent and I shrugged the weird feeling. Without power over my movement I came inside the warehouse where a small room was dimply lit by  candle creating a silhouette of a person. The person was chained to the ceiling with their feet dangling in the air. It was a boy. He seemed to be using his last remaining strength against the chains uselessly trying to free himself, but to no avail.

The boys hair was a tangled mess. His clothes ripped and shredded with a black eye and a nasty cut on his left temple. Blood dripped from his head and onto the floor, but his eyes. It was filled with sadness, yet also with hope. His eyes were wild. Wild with different emotions. Fear. Anger. Determination. Yes, determined. He was determined to get out of there and never to return. He at least has to try before he confronts his impending death. "Death" Such a cruel word to an innocent child. But he's not afraid of dying, he's afraid of how he was going to die. How could this happened to him? It broke her heart to see this boy like this. So full of fear and sorrow in his eyes. So full of hatred. Hatred? She questioned herself, but does not understand. Hatred towards the world? Those monsters that did this to him? Nonetheless there was a burning hatred in his eyes. He looks so broken and hurt that she wants to help him, maybe even call out that she was there, but her body and voice betrayed her.

Something stirred inside the warehouse. Something evil. Arryn couldn't believe her eyes as she saw the monsters that kidnapped the boy. She was never scared, but this made her want to hide in her bed and never want to come out again. The boy screamed in frustration and for help. As the boy raise his head she now realizes that the boy was her friend.

It was Jack. Little J. Then she heard him whisper one word, "Dad..." and she woke up in cold sweat

   Jack

"Really? It was Jack?" said Gabe questioning her. "Yes it was him, I know it is" I said determined. Gabe came over this morning to hang out with her, but he change plans because he knows that just by looking at her something was wrong. She quickly told him her nightmare that's still vivid to her like a video in her mind that she can't erase.

"Well I believe you, its just you can't say that terrible monsters just kidnaped one of our best friends in a creepy abandoned warehouse somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and now we have to save him or he will die a horrible death" he concluded. I frowned "When you say it like that you make me sound like a crazy hobo".

Gabe laughed and took an apple (his favorite fruit) from the fruit basket and started eating eat. "Well a very cute crazy hobo to be specific" he teased grinning. I blushed which made him to bursed out laughing. "Whatever, but seriously, I should call him" I tried to call Jack only to hear his nerdy voicemail on the line. We switched glances. "Well, we are in break maybe he went some-" I cut him off "Yeah our nerdy, unsocialized Jack who clearly do not like to talk to people, especially his own age suddenly went somewhere on vacation."

She remembers the monsters that she saw, and the look on his face. What if all of that was true? She questions her self. Stop scaring my self, me. Oh now in talking to myself, great. Maybe I am a crazy hobo.

She tried to mask her concern, but she knew better. Gabe will detect any negativity from her and will comfort her until she feels better. Gabe was her best friend. Her Garebear. Her bodyguards and her partner in crime. He sat next to her and put out his arm. She put her head on his shoulder. "Go on little Ryn, you can tell Uncle Garebear all about it" he said in his horrible Barney voice trying to comfort me. I smiled. "Shut up Uncle or your face gets it" I said jokingly.

"Hey Ryn" said Gabe turning serious all of a sudden and looking at me with great intensity with his own eyes. "I have something important to tell you and you might not believe me."

Mark

"I screwed up big time" I told Alexis. "I lost him". I followed Jack using shadow travel but was to late to save him from the monster. She looked scared and started to pace around. Her big smile changed to a frown of concern to panic. "How could we let them!" She exclaimed. " WE were supposed to be protecting them! How are we supposed to tell his family about this? His mother?". I stopped her pacing "He might not be-" then she shrieked "No don't even say it! He's not! He's not dead!"

I let her cool down for a moment. "How? How are we going to explain this to Chiron?" she said in a whisper. "It's okay we'll just have to find him ourselves and I can sense he's not dead yet". "But that's not our mission. Our mission was supposed to take them to camp and break the news that they are not like other kids. We're suppose to tell them that they're like US Mark." she contradicted.

She's scared and I understand that. I'm scared too. I can't let anyone get hurt anymore. If he dies I will be held responsible and I can't live with that. He's my best friend and I'll save him. I swear in the River of Styx that I'll save him. Even if I have to die trying.

"Let's go" I said in finality.

Jack

I woke up in chains with my feet dangling up a 2 story warehouse. At first I didn't know where I was then the realization struck me hard. The Trench coat man.

This can't be happening, this can't be happening to me!" I said my voice panicky and raised. It's okay, it's okay this is just a nightmare that I'll be waking up any minute now. I waited and waited and the growing panic in my voice increased. I started calling for help but an inhuman growl made me stop in fear.

There was a loud thump down below and I saw the man in the trench coat. He stripped of his trench coat and hat to reveal his true self. He began growing in size and before I knew it, he was over eight-feet-tall with bulging biceps and different scars all over his body.

"Let me go" I yelled out defiantly. I hope that didn't sound like I was to about to pee my pants with my voice cracking. Trench coat man laughed menacingly and said "No why would I do that half-blood? Your friends are well on their way of rescuing you. You should watch out who you trust because it can get you hurt!". I spit at him and struggled against the chains waving my feet in the air like a mad mad.

Half-Bloods? What is that? I asked my self.

"Stop your futile attempt on escaping demigod, we will feast on your hero flesh and kill your friends after we're done with you!" He laughed evilly. Other beings shifted behind him and I can see that they're must be at least a dozen of them. They laughed among themselves as I ponder what I'm going to do now. I felt something sticky on top of my forehead. Blood. I felt nauseous and I started to shake.

Please, someone. Help me. Mom. Arryn. Mark. Someone take me away from this place. I looked into the stars and a foreign word escaped from my mouth, "Dad.."
