"Hani called; They'll be over after having dinner with Namjoon and Nina," Jimin said handing Jungkook a beer can.
"Thanks," Jungkook murmured, opening the can.
Jimin sat down beside him on the couch, scrolling through his phone's screen. "I'm ordering pizza for us".
Jungkook just hmmed, taking sip of beer. He didn't say anything else, his eyes on the can.
Jimin looked at him, a hint of concern in his eyes, "Everything okay, Kook?"
"Yeah," Jungkook said, his voice low, almost lost in thought, "Everything's fine."
Jimin studied his face, his eyes lingering on the slight downturn of his lips, the furrow of his brow.
"Look, I know we both are married and have settled in our families but that doesn't mean we can't share our problems like old days." Jimin said, sipping the bear.
Jungkook let out a humourless laugh, his thumb gently circling the rim of the glass.
He knew Jimin was right. After all, they had known each other for what felt like forever. They'd been by each other's side through everything, from their childhood to adulthood.
"It's just...things with Anya aren't good." He finally said, looking away from his can.
"Yeah, Hani and I noticed", Jimin nodded.
"We've been fighting, lately", Jungkook continued, his voice still low, "A lot. I said some terrible things to her, and she's still upset about it."
Jimin listened quietly, his eyes on his friend's face.
"I don't know. I messed up," Jungkook shook his head, "And I.. I keep messing up."
"And what is it about?" Jimin asked, his voice gentle.
"Duty," Jungkook replied. He looked up at Jimin, a mix of exhaustion and frustration in his eyes. "And I've.... I've said things to her I should not."
"Like what?" Jimin asked, genuinely curious, yet he knew he was treading on thin ice.
Jungkook paused for a moment, the words hanging heavy between them.
"I accused her of being selfish," he finally said, the guilt evident in his voice. "I said she was making my life... difficult."
He expected Jimin to be shocked, or at least surprised, but he was met with a look of understanding.
"And what did she say?," Jimin's voice was soft, without any judgment.
Jungkook leaned back into the couch, his head in his hands.
