"Yes, yes! Thank you and welcome to the annual Parkie Awards. Heh. Now, we have a truly staggering, even grueling, number of awards to hand out tonight." The announcer said, and the trio groan. "So let's jump right into the fun, huh? Our first award is for best raking. The award for cleanest pond goes to... The park with the most well-behaved children is... Okay, halfway done, folks.
And for most uniform lawn... Best birthday spots... ...for healthiest trees." One by one, trophies from the table began to disappear. The audience claps. "Let's give it up to Harrison Lake Park for most fertile land! How do they do it?" Mordecai and Rigby groan again, and Rigby face plants onto the table. "We've been here for four hours!" Mordecai whined, and (Y/n) sighs. "Come on guys, can't you be a bit more supportive?
We're here for Benson, and he's a friend, remember?" (Y/n) asked, earning another groan from Rigby, and (Y/n) rolls her eyes. "What are you doing? You're acting like children! I'm up for park manager of the year. This is the big leagues. Gene usually sweeps the awards, but I know for a fact that I have a chance this year. I mean, after that embarrassing fertilizer fiasco East Pines had?"
Benson asked, then chuckles. "It's in the bag." Skips said. "Well, this seems like as good a time as any that we remember the fallen. Our park-manager brethren, none of whom had won an award but will still be missed, despite their lack of excellence." The announcer said, and sentimental music plays as a tv is shown, showing the fallen park managers. First, a man appeared with red words under saying "mauled by hummingbirds." Another man showed up with the words "death by chocolate," then a happy couple holding a snake appeared with the word "quicksand," and last but not least, an old woman holding a bucket with the words "log rolling."
The audience sighs, then applauds after each picture. "And now a moment of silence. I'd like to thank Wing Kingdom for sponsoring this event!" The man said, as a banner shows up behind him. Before you get your angel wings, come by and get some spicy ones." The man said. "What happened to the moment of silence?" (Y/n) asked, and Mordecai and Rigby snickered. "And now the award we've all been waiting for... the park manager of the year award!" The man said, and Benson smiles with excitement. "The nominees are..." the man said. Once again, the TV began showing pictures. "Kimmy Gehbert from Micro Park."
A young woman wearing a red shirt with orange hair is shown. "Slicer Ericson from Alley Way Park." A man with long brown hair wearing a jacket with multiple badges shows up. "Gene from East Pines Park." (Y/n) cringed when Gene's picture was shown. She really hated that guy. "And Benson from Park." A goofy picture of Benson eating cereal was shown on TV. (Y/n) face palms when she saw his picture. "Oh god..." she said. "What? That's not the picture I told you to send!" Benson scolds the trio. "Sorry Benson..." (Y/n) said. "Don't you want them to know the real you?" Mordecai asked. "Yeah, it's honest." Rigby said. "And the Parkie goes to..." the man began.
"Shh, this is it!" Benson shushed quickly. "Ben..." Benson gasped. "...jamin Smith! He's another guy who passed. That's food for thought. Anyway, get up here, Gene! You won!" The man said, as he gestured for him to come up, and (Y/n) groans. "Again?!" She asked angrily. Gene throws his arms up happily as he walks up to the stage. "This is Gene's ninth nomination and ninth win in this category.
It's his 18th win tonight." The announcer said. "Boo" (Y/n) said. "Hey, I needed another back scratcher, am I right?" Gene asked, and the audience laughs. (Y/n) huffs, then crosses her arms and refuses to watch. "I'm runnin' out of room for these things! Well, thanks, I guess. Here's to another 18 wins!" Gene said, throwing his arms up, then walking off stage. The man walks back to the microphone. "The best of the best certainly won tonight, huh, folks? Another big thanks to Wing Kingdom, and we'll see you next year at the annual Parkie Awards!" (Y/n) glances over to Benson worriedly.
