Mishra inquired, "Sir, if you and Annika know each other, why aren't you supervising her directly? And why didn't you correct her assumption that you're an employee, not my boss?"Shivay paused, his expression unreadable. "Mishra, do you enjoy your job?"
Mishra's confusion was evident. "Yes, sir, I do. But that doesn't answer my question."
Shivay's tone turned authoritative. "If you value your position, perform your duties diligently. No more questioning me. I'm the boss; I ask the questions. Remember, my identity remains confidential. If you breach this trust, it will be your last day."
Mishra nodded hastily, understanding the warning.
Shivay pressed, "I didn't hear your confirmation."
Mishra replied firmly, "Yes, Sir!" before swiftly exiting Shivay's office.
To himself, Mishra thought, "Foolish of me to question the boss.
Some days later
Oberoi Mansion , Garden
Kalyani Oberoi sat serene in the garden, savoring her evening tea as the warm sunlight began to fade. With her husband, children, and grandchildren occupied elsewhere, she cherished this solitary moment. Tending to her beloved plants brought her peace, and she reveled in the silence.
The gentle rustle of leaves and soft chirping of birds accompanied her thoughts as she inspected her meticulously nurtured garden. Vibrant flowers swayed gently, their colors intensified by the golden hues of dusk.
Her serene evening was suddenly disrupted by loud, energetic voices, shattering the peaceful ambiance of the garden. She turned her attention toward the commotion, a warm smile spreading across her face as she saw her two beloved grandsons, Rudra and Om, approaching her.
Rudra exaggerated his exhaustion, "Dadi, finally! I've searched every corner of this massive mansion to find you! My search party is officially over." He dramatically flung his arms wide, as if conquering a marathon.
"I think I can safely skip the gym today," Rudra continued, "since I've already gotten my workout searching for you." His eyes sparkled with mischief.
Dadi's chuckle resonated through the garden, amused by Rudra's theatrics.
Om, standing beside Rudra, playfully rolled his eyes and gently smacked his brother's head. "Save the drama, Rudra. We asked the maid, and she directed us here. You walked maybe 20 steps."
Rudra feigned offense, his lower lip jutting out in a pout. "Dadi, this old man just doesn't understand my struggles. My exhaustive search has left me drained."
Her eyes sparkled with amusement as she set her tea aside. "Oh, Rudra, you're so dramatic! I'm flattered you'd go to such great lengths to find me."
Rudra grinned, pleased with the attention. "Dadi, I'd search the world for you!"
Om chimed in, "Yeah, right! You'd search the fridge for food, maybe."
Rudra playfully nudged Om. "Hey, that's not fair! I'm a devoted grandson."
Dadi chuckled, her eyes shining with warmth. "I appreciate the sentiment, Rudra. Now, what brings you both here today?"
Rudra announced dramatically, "Dadi, you won't believe the earth-shattering news we have! You would be so shocked!"
Dadi's curiosity was piqued. "What is it, beta? What could be so shocking?"
