Emily's pov
I've been home for a week now and I've been staying at my house. Rose went back to Scarletts after a couple of days of my being back so I went back home. The night terrors have gotten more easy to deal with by myself and Scarlett is always up when I message her which is somewhat...concerning.I hum too the radio whilst preparing my breakfast. Brie, bacon and egg on toast with parsley. I love listening to the radio in the morning, especially the news and the music when I'm cooking breakfast. My kitchen is also a lovely space be in, it's big but I didn't buy it when I was single or starting a relationship.
The front door opens and I frown, I wipe my hands in a towel "hello?" I ask curiously walking around the island to see the the corridor. "Em it's me!' Lizzie calls scrapping her shoes on the mat "oh hey! I wasn't expecting to see you today" I smile. She comes into the kitchen "why didn't you tell me you where coming?" I ask pulling my little sister into a hug "it's a surprise" she tells me, I pull away "what are you doing?' "making breakfast. I can make you some too aswell" "I'm okay, I've already eaten. I have a favour to ask" "what's up?' I ask raising an eyebrow curious as to what this favour maybe "I'm going to the guardians of the galaxy premiere and I have noone to go with because Robbie is away at a gig" "okay?" I ask knowing exactly what she's saying "I want you to come with me. I want to share it with you and you've now got Scarlett and you've just come back...we don't see eachother very much. Plus you need a night out!" My heart races at the though "are you sure you want me to go? This is huge" "it will be fine. Besides, I could use my big sister by my side... and Scarlett will be there" she smirks. I glance at my breakfast on the side and then back too Lizzie who looks eager and full of life "okay, let's do it!" "Really?!" She squeals jumping up and down "you won't regret it! Thank you".
Lizzie's been working really hard as an actress and even though she wasn't in guardians of the galaxy it's still the marvel world which she is involved in. I can't wait to see the other side of hers and Scarletts world, the Glamour's makeup side.
"When is it?" I ask looking at the date on my watch "oh...um it's tonight" my eyes widen "seriously?! You never told me that. What am I going to wear?" "A dress duh. You've got loads in your wardrobe upstairs. Go..quick!' I run up the stairs to my room whilst Lizzie goes back out to her car.
As we step onto the red carpet, the energy is electric. Cameras flash like fireflies, and the buzz of excited voices fill the air. I feel a mix of exhilaration and nerves as Lizzie leads me through the throngs of fans and reporters.
“Just smile and wave!” she instructs, her confidence radiating. I follow her lead, grinning as we posed together for photos. She looks stunning in her elegant gown, the fabric shimmering under the lights, while I feel like Im floating beside her in my own simple dress. “Emily! Over here!” a reporter calls, pointing our way. Lizzie turns and winkd, pulling me in close. “This is my sister, Emily! Just got back from serving overseas!”. The crowd erupts into applause, and I feel my cheeks flush. Its surreal to be recognized in this way, standing beside my sister, who is already a rising star. I get changed into a dress I wore to Lizzie's birthday and quickly curl my hair using the ions and do my makeup. "Lizzie I'm ready. I'm just going to eat my breakfast really quickly" I inform my sister "okay! Take your time!" She replies from the downstairs bathroom.
Once inside, the atmosphere shifts to one of anticipation. The venue is packed with industry insiders, celebrities, and fans buzzing with excitement. We find our seats near the front, and Lizzie leans in, her eyes sparkling. “Can you believe we’re really here?” I shake my head, still in awe “This is incredible.”
As the lights dim, a hush falld over the crowd. The movie begins, and Im immediately drawn in. The visuals are stunning, and the humor that the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is known for had everyone laughing.
Throughout the film, I feel a growing sense of connection, not just to the story on screen, but to Lizzie and her world. I can see how much this means to her, and it made my heart swell knowing how much she supports her friends.
When the credits roll, the theater erupts in applause. Lizzie turned to me, her eyes wide with excitement. “What did you think?” “It was amazing! I can see why you wanted to come!” I exclaim, my voice filled with enthusiasm. We join the crowd as we made our way outside, where the night had transformed into a celebration. Fans are buzzing, actors were mingling, and the atmosphere is electric. Lizzie spots a few of her co-stars and waves them over. As they approach, I feel a mix of nerves and excitement. Lizzie introduces me to the stars of the movie, and they are warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. We laugh and chat, the excitement of the night weaving us all together.
At one point, Lizzie pulls me aside. “Can you believe this? You’re actually here, experiencing all of this with me!” I smile feeling grateful. “I wouldn’t have missed it for anything. Thank you for inviting me.”
As the night continues, I realize how much I needed this experience. It wasn’t just about the premiere; it was about reconnecting with Lizzie and feeling like I was part of something larger. "Hey Em" Lizzie taps my shoulder harder and harder "ow! What?' she points Infront of us and I see her. I smile and my eyes soften at the sigh of Scarlett in her pink dress that flows down the floor. "You should go talk to her" I shake my head still staring at her "what?...no. That's suspiciously weird" I tell my sister still not being able to take my eyes off her.
Scarlett sees me, her smile is shocked but happy. She starts to walk over to me and I look at Lizzie "what should I say?" I ask "whatever you-" "hey!" Scarlett says smiling "uh hi" she frowns curiously "why didn't you tell me you where coming?" "You didn't tell me you where coming and I didn't know until about five hours ago. Lizzie invited to me to come with her" "that's nice. Where is she? I haven't seen her" I look to my side and laugh "well she was here about ten seconds ago". "You look beautiful by the way" she says taking my back by surprise, I smile at my dress "thank you. You do too" she holds my blonde hair in her hand "phone me tonight?" I nod "of course. If that what you'd like" Scarlett smiles and lets go of my hair "not really. I'd rather you stay over but Roses home and she's got school in the morning" "it's okay, I understand".
