Part 72 - THE MONK FROM HELL Part 3

''I think the only thing to do is go to confession and confess everything to the priest'' Daniel said at last ''We don't have a confession box here at the monastery but there is a church in the town nearby where we all go to confess. I go about once a month to confession. As a matter of fact i am going this week and i suggest you come too''

Sean shook his head and was quite sure he would not go to confession ''I can't do it are you crazy?'' he said ''I can't confess to the murders. I told you. I do not want to go to prison for the rest of my life Daniel really''

Daniel smiled at Sean ''But Sir this is not a confession to the police is it! It's just a confession to God in the confessional booth that is all''

''Sure but the priest will hear every word right?''

''Yes but he cannot repeat what is said in the confessional.It is between you, him and God only Sir really. He cannot tell anyone else or the police what you said in confession''

Sean was dubious ''You sure Daniel? I mean even if a person confesses to murders and other serious crimes he will still keep it a secret?''

''Yes Sir honestly. Ask any of the other monks here they will all tell you the same. What you say in confession stays between you and the priest. Look Sean, Sir, the point is if you are genuine about repenting then you need to go into confession. Trust me it will make you feel a lot better. I always feel better after i've been to confession and i know you will too. It's the only true way to repent Sir''

Sean was still not sure but he was beginning to think that confessing to the priest might be the best thing to do. That way he could repent and come clean with his sins without having to go to prison. The priest would not tell the police

But he was still unsure and wasn't ready to make a decision yet ''Daniel i need to think about it for a while'' he said

''Ok Sir but let me know asap and we can go together when i go''

''Ok and thank you for your help and your advice Daniel''

''I want to try my best to help you Sir'' Daniel said sweetly

''Really Daniel?''

''yes of course Sir. I can see you're troubled and i want to help you with those troubles. I also stopped being angry with you Sir and now i want us to be friends and i will serve you and co operate Sir''

''Good boy i am pleased to hear this at last. I was getting sick of your bad attitude and refusal to co operate Daniel''

''I know you were Sir. Well from now on you won't have to worry anymore. But do let me know as soon as you decide whether to come to confession with me or not. I really do think it would do you some good to come with me Sir''

''Ok Daniel i promise i will think about it today and let you know by tomorrow''

All day Sean was thinking about Daniel's suggestion. He was feeling very ambivalent about it. On the one hand he could see it might help. On the other he still felt unsure about confessing all this to anyone. But then again he had just told Daniel so if he could confess to Daniel then why not confess to the priest too?

Three teenage boys, named David, Pete and Colin, came to the monastery with the intention to cause trouble. They were badly behaved boys and to them it was a laugh to come here and cause trouble

Some of the monks were outside doing the garden when the boys came in

''Oh Lord those boys are back again'' Jeremy said with dread when he saw them coming in grinning like a pack of hyenas
