Reminiscing

"Touya, when we grow up we'll be partners, right? You can be my sidekick," I happily said as I sat next to my friend.

Touya laughed and ruffled my hair, being gentle with me. "Yes (Y/N), I'll be your sidekick. As long as you won't forget about me, since I'm leaving HPSC soon."

"How could I ever forget about you, Touya? You're the best thing that happened to me! We'll be friends, even when we're super old, I promise," I told the white haired boy, looking at his incredibly beautiful blue eyes.

"Who knows, you might just become a villain," He joked with a smirk.

"Well, then we'll be partners in crime!" I giggled, knowing I'd never want to leave my friend.

I was sprinting along with the roofs, my feet patting against the harsh stones beneath me. The moon shone visibly in the clear yet cool air, and my heartbeat was racing.

My wings were bound together, and when I jumped from roof to roof, I had to use a great part of my stamina.

I felt my legs feeling weak beneath me, nearly starting to buckle, but I kept moving with all my power.

And right at that moment, I saw a glimpse of a moving figure in the corner of my eyes. He was running quickly on the other side of the street, and this was my moment to go for my final launch.

I jumped down to my left, landing on a balcony. The figure saw me getting closer, and I leaped from one side of the street to the other. To my advantage, the street wasn't that broad, it was simply rather long and daunting.

I saw my target getting closer to reach, and I swiftly picked up the pace as I was nearing him.

"Where are those little legs going?" He laughed as he turned his head around for a split second, giving me a small glance. He jumped up to a roof on his left, and I followed closely.

"They're going to catch you," I beamed back, forcing my last bit of energy to make me give my all. My legs were burning, muscles sore from the intensity, and my ankles were throbbing from the times I jumped off buildings wrong.

He was nearly in hand reach, but just when I wanted to grab him by the back of his jacket, he flung himself off the roof.

"Shit," I mumbled as I dashed after him, climbing from balcony to balcony. Once my feet touched the ground floor again, I looked around in a haze trying to find my target.

I checked every balcony and roof that was close enough with my vision, until I saw a gloved hand peeking from behind a wall. I silently yet quickly made my way to my target, feeling adrenaline burst through my veins.

I was about to turn around the corner, grabbing him in the process, but much to my dismay- the glove fell to the ground. It was like it was held up by air, which was impossible.

I leaned down and grabbed the glove, seeing a vermillion feather laying still in it. I clicked my tongue in annoyance, but before I could even turn around, I was tackled to the ground.

I fell along with the man I was after to the floor, my cheek scraping the asphalt.

"So, when are you planning on catching me, Miss Duality?" Hawks said in a triumphant voice, gloating from his victory.

"That's not fair, you weren't allowed to use your quirk!" I snarled at him as I struggled, trying to lose my arms from his grip. I was laying face down with Hawks holding me by my hands on the ground, his strong force keeping me still.
