Amanda

Had I known, I shouldn't have gone to the office.

Nothing fruitful came out of going to work however, something good happened in the morning. I set Ava straight.

At work, Gabriel turned a blind eye. It was just as if I was a ghost. While everyone congratulated me as the new managing director, Gabriel said nothing. He did not bother to take a glance at me and that proved he was still very much angry.

I was quite sad till the moment I stepped into the house.

Emily, who saw the look on my face couldn't help but pacify me. I opened up to her and she told me my husband's probably undergoing his periodical mood swing.

Periodical mood swings?

I wondered if he was a woman or if he just got pregnant.

However, in my mind, I hoped her advice was true.

I ate, had my bath, and made my way to Gabriel's study room to complete the leftover work from the office. I could only spend a few minutes before I started drafting a well-thought-out plan for my revenge.

Suddenly, the door creaked open and I was forced to direct my eyes towards it. My gaze fell on my Gabriel with a heavy heart while I quickly squeezed the sheet of paper and dumped it into the vim beside the desk.

My eyes followed the sound of shoes clinking on the tiles and it made me gulp. A sly grin was spread across his face. His expression shifted almost immediately and he hissed.

"What do you want exactly?" Gabriel asked while he stood at the other end of the table.

I looked sideways and acted as if I heard nothing. I have told him what I wanted, not once but a lot of times ever since I struck a deal with him.

"Since you don't want to answer that question, then answer this. What were you looking at just now?" He asked, staring at me.

After a while, I stammered, "I..."

Gabriel smirked before he took the sheet of paper from the bin. Then, I knew he was way more serious since he had to dip his hand into the bin.

His eyes glanced through it and I proudly guessed he couldn't understand the content but the names on it gave him a clear idea of the content.

"You want me to trust you but you must trust me first. I am your husband now. You have to see me as someone you can trust." Gabriel said in a lower voice than usual.

He closed his eyes and sighed deeply before he assisted me to sit on the chair and he went on his knees and took my hands in his.

"I want to take over Romanus Emporium unfailingly tomorrow," I said without wasting more time.

"You still won't give up," he said, followed by an unwilling smile.

I looked downward before I settled my eyes on him again. "Yes, I can't. I plan to put them in a difficult position. Don't worry, I already have a detailed plan and that proves there will be no problem."

"How do you plan to do that? No matter how smart you are, you can't guarantee the plan won't go wrong." He expressed his point of view.

"I know you care about the Slade family; its reputation and all. Now, I am part of the Slade family and I will never do anything that will implicate the Slade family." I mentioned.

"Nothing is foolproof. I'm deeply sorry, I still can't bear to put the Slade family at risk." He complained before he gently withdrew his hands from mine.

He walked towards the door in a hurry but I was fast enough to call out to him.

"Husband..." I wrapped my hand carefully around his arm. " You will never know till you try. Why can't you just trust me once?"

My heartbeat grew erratic because I wasn't sure what Gabriel's response would be. In my mind, whether he accepted or not, I would still carry on with my plan.

After a few minutes, he answered. "Okay. I agree but just once."

Deep down, I knew he was not satisfied by it.

"Okay. Thank you!" I appreciated his kind gesture before I unwrapped my hand from his arm.

To appreciate him more, I bent a little before I placed my lips on his right hand hoping not to cause trouble.

"What's that?" Gabriel asked as he adjusted his tie.

"Find the meaning yourself," I answered after I rolled my eyes.

While I fiddled my finger when I pretended to look away, Gabriel pulled me closer to his body and I smiled after inhaling his perfume. He gently stroked my hair before he cupped my chin in his hand gently and my chest couldn't stop but move up and down.

"Why don't I show you how it's done properly?" Gabriel asked, his voice was low but seductive.

Before I could protest, his lips were already on my nose. I giggled before he replaced my nose with my lips.

Just the kiss sent waves of excitement in my body system.

He lifted me then I circled my legs around his waist and stretched my arms to his back making sure our lips never left each other.

In the marriage contract, I was not meant to do any of what I am doing with Gabriel. He is meant to sleep on the couch while I sleep bossily on the bed.

But I can't deny the fact that he has been there for me since the beginning so I allowed him. He was there when I started to plot my revenge plan but why am I kissing him?

Love? Pleasure? Desire? Obsession? Because he is my husband?

All of the above, I guess.

Hold on! Obsession? No! It can't be.

"Fool. He is a contracted husband. Never kiss a man like him." My subconscious mocked.

"Vengeful witch, he is your husband. You like him and he likes you. You can always pay his kindness with your body." The devil in me chimed.

I trusted the devil and continued with the kiss Gabriel offered. It did not take long before Gabriel grabbed my ass and I broke the kiss.

My eyes shone brightly since it was the first time.

"You... You are..." I muttered.

"What? Express yourself clearly," he said as he used his teeth to bite my ear. I let out a moan.

Gabriel wasted no time to kiss me again and again and again before he pushed away all the items on the table and dropped me on it.

Gabriel remained in between my thighs just like the other night when we were at his grandmother's house.

Gabriel moved backward a little and trailed his fingers on my thighs before he asked, "Are you ready?"

I replied, "Ready for what?"

"What I am about to do to you," he said. He removed his left hand and trailed it slowly across my neck.

"I don't know," I retorted after a while.

He laughed. "Newbies do say so until they feel the nice instrument of peace inside them."

"What does that mean and what is the nice instrument of peace?" I asked curiously.

"If you badly want to know how it feels, I can help you." He assured me.

"Wait! You haven't eaten," I remembered all of a sudden.

"You will be my dinner," Gabriel said I'm a surprisingly smooth voice that matched his cool and sexy appearance when he wanted nothing but sex.

Should I fulfill his wish?
