"Kael, we need to visit somewhere. Get down here fast." Amanda ordered over the phone.
She carried her bag and looked at the mirror making sure she dressed well enough. She touched her shoulder a little and bit her lips, preventing herself from moaning out loud.
Before Gabriel left for work, he helped Amanda prepare all the basic things she would need for the day. He told her not to leave the mansion too but Amanda, a goat, like she is, is all bent on stepping out for a showdown.
She walked out of the room and descended the stairs in a rush.
"Kael!" She shouted when she saw he wasn't around yet.
She wanted to drive but she was in no condition to so she had no choice but to call for assistance.
A few minutes later, she fumed as she saw Kael drive into the compound. She hurried to the car and entered.
"You fool! What took you so long?" She shouted.
"Madam, you called just fifteen minutes ago." Kael defended.
"Because I have been smiling and playing with you doesn't mean you should disrespect and disobey me." She snapped.
Kael, who had no choice but to apologize did so instantly.
"Better. Now head over to the Romanus mansion. I have some matters to settle." Amanda ordered.
"Amanda, we can't go there. I thought you were going to your Mother's grave. That explains why I'm here. Mr. Gabriel said you should not exit the house. In fact, where's Emily?" Kael said gently so he won't piss Amanda off.
"I sent Emily home already. And Gabriel is in Seattle, he will be back at night. This is the only time I can go to the Romanus mansion. Please, do this for me." Amanda said after she calmed down.
Kael nodded and drove the car out of the compound.
As soon as they arrived at the Romanus mansion, Amanda got out of the car like a leopard that had its eyes set on its prey ahead. She stormed into the Romanus mansion despite the security Marvin already hired.
"Not bad. So Marvin could ever hire bodyguards." Amanda hissed.
"Why can't I?" Marvin said and dropped the newspaper he was reading. He stood and closed the gap between them, "I told you not to return to my house ever again."
Amanda smirked, "Really? This house belongs to me."
"Lie! It belongs to me, my wife, and my daughters. Not you." Marvin fired though he knew he had no share in the property.
Amanda pretended like she did not hear what Marvin said and asked, "Whatever. Where's Ava?"
"Looks like we have a cat in our midst," Julienne's voice echoed from upstairs. She had a glass of apple juice in her right hand.
As soon as Julienne finished talking, Ava added. "Of course. Amanda, what brings you here? Is it because your plan failed?"
Amanda turned to the direction the voice came from and found Ava smiling like a fool. She was just arriving from Richard's home where she spent the night. She was already used up and it was very glaring on her face since her hair was not properly packed.
"Only Ava and her father can sign the property transfer papers. Does that explain why you ambushed Ava? Are you here to make Marvin sign the papers forcefully too?" Julienne asked inquisitively as she slowly descended the stairs.
"When those who call themselves humans talk, are golddiggers meant to interrupt?" Amanda mocked staring at Julienne in the eye.
Ava screamed, "How dare you talk to my mother in that manner?"
Amanda moved to the three-seater chair Marvin stood up and chimed, "Can't I? Well... I'm not here for that. I'm here to clarify something else."
"And what's that?" Marvin asked. He had been silent since Julienne and Ava arrived.
Amanda sat and revealed, "I was the one who ambushed Ava yesterday. That was lovely. Now, you can do whatever you want with me. That's if you have the power."
Ava pissed by Amanda's words walked quickly to Amanda's side. "You... I guessed right. Only a golddigger knows a golddigger. Dear stepsister, do you want the properties?"
Amanda issued a threat before she poured herself a glass of water and gulped it down her throat. "Yes, I do. And I will get it... At all means possible. You should know me well by now, I have changed. I am not the same person I was months ago. This is a new Amanda, the vengeful one. Very soon, you will see more of my dark side."
"What is it that you will do?" Julienne asked.
Amanda reminded them, "There is no limit to what I can achieve. Just wait and see what I can do if you are that curious."
Ava promised with a huge smile on her face. "It looks like you won't be giving up soon. Sooner or later, I will show you where you belong."
"Should you be more worried about me or the fact that you reek of sex?" Amanda revealed. While they were on their way to the Romanus mansion, Kael informed her.
"What are you... saying?" Ava asked defensively before bowing her head.
"You reek of sex after spending a night with a man you have no future with. I am very glad about that. You know why? He is gradually helping me by leading your body to your grave. When it's time, I will just push you into it. Simple!"
"Ava, where are you coming from?" Julienne demanded in a harsh tone which was enough to make Ava fidget in fear.
Ava thought for a while before she answered, "I went out with my friends."
"Are you coming from Richard's home? Have I not told you several times not to approach that cunning man?" Julienne questioned. She always had a problem with Ava and Richard's relationship. That was part of the reasons she struck a deal with Gabriel. She is a cunning woman so she can recognise a manipulator and cunning person like her and that's Richard. She had tried severally to show Ava that Richard is not the perfect man for her but her daughter is blindly in love.
"Yes, I... I..." Ava stuttered.
"So, you were at his place," Julienne confirmed.
"Mom, why don't you want me to be with Richard? He is nice to me, plus, I never wanted to marry Gabriel." Ava confessed right in front of Marvin.
"What did you say?" Marvin asked, shocked by his daughter's confession.
To cover their inhuman actions, Julienne closed the gap between her and Ava then slapped her hard. Ava fell to the floor and rubbed her hot cheeks in a flash. "Stop saying rubbish," Julienne whispered.
"Like mother, like daughter. Like father, like daughter. What a family! I will get going now since I have some urgent matters to attend to." Amanda said after shaking her head. She carried her bag and sashayed towards the door, she stopped suddenly and said, "And don't forget to bring down the charges or else... you should know what can happen."
Just when Amanda was about to exit the house, her eyes caught Julienne's most treasured vase which she claimed was the last gift from her mother before she died.
"What could be a better goodbye gift than this?" Amanda thought with an evil grin on her face. She looked back and stared at Julienne who was still giving her daughter the preaching of a lifetime. A sly grin played on her face then she kicked the vase and screamed, "I have been so clumsy these days. I'm sorry. Don't take it to heart."
"Amanda!!! I will kill you," Julienne screamed her lungs out before she ran to the pieces of the broken vase on the floor and packed them with her hands before she repeatedly banged her head on the chair beside her.
