Layla:
I had never ever gotten death threats or gotten bullied before for being a lesbian.
Well until now, at least.I have no clue what is happening. The only thing I want, is for it to stop. I keep crying myself to sleep, skipping classes and I am not myself anymore. I'm scared. Everyone at school looks at me as if I'm some disgusting creature.
I stared at the my phone that buzzed with another message.
Unknown:
-End it already, freak.
-You're so pathetic.
-You don't even deserve to live.
It was raining that night, and it was cold as hell. I was at my house, but I wasn't at home. I grabbed my jacket and my keys and got out of the house before Mom could even manage to form words.I quickly walked down the street, making my way to Olivia and Kayan's house, hoping that I would get some comfort with them. I knocked on the door and when Aunt Pip opened, she immediately looked concerned seeing the look on my face.
-"Layla?" She mumbled, "What's wrong darling?"
-"Can I sleep here? Just for tonight?" I asked, my voice cracking.
When I went upstairs, I opened the door to Olivia's room. Kayan was also there, and their heads snapped towards the opened door, and me standing soaking wet there.
-"Layla!?" They said at the same time.
-"Hi." I managed a weak wave.
I laid on Liv's bed, both of them next to me as I explained them everything new.
-"First Rui's grades dropping, you getting threats.. What's next? Aliens abduct me or something?" Kayan scoffed.
-"Kayan." Olivia warned.
-"It's not impossible! With all this shit happening."
The door opened again, and Uncle Ravi stood there with the biggest cake I had ever seen in my life.
-"WHO WANTS TO EAT BABY!?" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
We ate and played board games, and I seemed to let go off everything at that moment. Uncle Ravi always had that way of making you forgetting things, which hey, wasn't so bad. He was ravishing. Oh and Kayan was Kayashing of course.
We didn't stay up for long though. We slept in the same bed, but Olivia kicked Kayan off in her sleep, so he ended up on the floor.
In the middle of the night, I got a phone call. And it woke both the twins up.
-"Who on god's green earth is calling at this time?" Kayan rubbed his eyes and started blinking like a maniac.
-"Oh my god Kayan, in what kind of planet do you live in?" Olivia scolded him. "Who is it?"
-"Unknown.." I mumbled.
Olivia grabbed the phone out of my hands and immediately answered, despite our protests.
-"Listen up fucker, if you want something from us, you want it from me. Not from Layla, not from Rui, not from anyone. So you better leave them alone, because if I decide to find you, I will fucking find you."
After saying those words, without even taking a breath, she hung up, and Kayan just stared at her open mouthed.
-"That low-key was crazy—But you devoured." He said and laughed.
-"You didn't have to do that Liv." I said and looked at her in the eyes.
-"Yes I did, Layla! We're fucking Sherlock gang. We don't think before we act." She smirked at the last part. "I want my husband."
-"Does Aaron know that he's your husband?" Kayan rolled his eyes.
Olivia started throwing things at him and we all laughed. However, I didn't sleep until morning. I couldn't drift off. There was something wrong.
The next day at school, Rui had gotten the worse grade again.
-"31%..." He threw the paper to the grass. "FUCK!"
-"Woah, dude, don't forget your 'mathematically' origins—" Kayan tried to lighten up the mood.
-"YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY KAYAN!?" Rui yelled and got into his face, his hair falling to his forehead. "Well let me catch you up. It's not fucking funny, when this whole thing is affecting our mental health, and I'm studying dude, I'm trying, and somehow this is the result. Layla's getting death threats, and she's getting bullied, and WHO KNOWS WHATS NEXT!? What if you're next, or Liv is next, or Aaron or Stella or Nic or Louis!? HUH!?"
Everyone stayed silent for a moment, and then Sofia went up to him and touched his shoulder.
-"Hey, I'm pretty sure there's an explanation for this—"
-"Don't touch him." Jules said and removed her hand.
Olivia furrowed her brows together. "Not to be mean, but Sofia, everything has been going downhill since you started hanging out with us."
The smile vanished from Sofia's face, and she looked anxious for a moment, before looking angry.
-"Are you accusing me Olivia?!" She said and went to approach her, but Aaron got in front of her immediately.
-"Watch your step." He said. "I don't allow people I don't trust near her."
-"As a matter of fact, if Liv's not accusing you, I am!" Jules shouted. "I have been saying something's wrong since you started hanging out with us."
-"Jules slow down—" Stella said.
-"You too Stella? Come on I thought you're the nice and innocent one!" Sofia turned her attention to Stella.
-"I uh—Uhm.." Stella stuttered.
-"Don't take advantage of my sister because of those qualities." Nic appeared out of nowhere behind Sofia, making her turn around.
When she saw Louis, she went pale.
-"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" Louis asked. "If you're doing something, drop it Sof."
-"You know what? Screw you guys. Y'all are lame anyways." She flipped us off and dissapeared.
I didn't have the strength to talk back to her, but if I had it, she would have regretted saying that in the first place. Jules mirrored her action.
-"FUCK YOU BACK YOU STUPID BITCH! Ugh my hair." She added, fixing her ponytail.
When I got home that day, I threw my bag on the floor and then I threw myself next to it.
More texts. More threats. More and more and more...
And I couldn't do this anymore.
I walked over to my room and opened my drawer, pulling out some pills. I started swallowing them, one by one, until my vision blurred.
At first, I was dizzy. Then I could see blurry things. And then, I saw nothing at all as I hit the floor.
