The hum of the engine filled the silence between Sienna and Jenna as they sped away from the danger they had narrowly escaped. Sienna's knuckles were white against the steering wheel, her mind racing as she replayed the events of the attack. The memory of Jenna being so close to death sent a shiver down her spine.

Jenna sat quietly in the passenger seat, her hands trembling as she tried to steady her breathing. The terror of what had just happened lingered like a shadow, but she trusted Sienna. She had to.

"Where are we going?" Jenna finally asked, her voice soft but strained.

"Somewhere safe," Sienna replied, her eyes glued to the road. "I have a place. A safe house, outside of Mystic Falls. It'll give us time to regroup, figure out our next move."

Jenna nodded, her gaze fixed out the window, watching the dark landscape blur by. She hadn't fully processed everything yet—the vampires, the magic, the sheer danger that seemed to follow Sienna like a storm cloud. But one thing was clear: she was in far deeper than she had ever imagined.

"Do you think they'll come after us again?" Jenna asked quietly, breaking the silence.

Sienna clenched her jaw, her mind swirling with conflicting thoughts. "Yes," she admitted. "They'll keep coming. Lucian's followers want revenge, and they'll stop at nothing to get it. And as long as you're with me, you're a target."

Jenna swallowed hard, fear creeping back into her chest. "Then why don't I just leave? Maybe if I go—"

"No." Sienna's voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. "You're safer with me, Jenna. I can protect you. If you go on your own, they'll find you. And I won't be able to stop them."

Jenna looked at her, biting her lip, torn between fear and trust. "But what if Klaus—"

"Klaus isn't the issue right now," Sienna cut in, though the mere mention of her brother made her chest tighten. "We need to deal with the immediate threat. Then I'll figure out how to handle Klaus."

Jenna nodded, though doubt still clouded her thoughts. She didn't fully understand the world Sienna was wrapped up in, the centuries-old family feuds and the supernatural chaos that followed. But one thing was clear—Sienna was willing to risk everything to protect her, and that meant something.

The car sped through the night, the moonlight casting eerie shadows across the trees that lined the empty road. Sienna's thoughts flickered between the present and the past, her mind drifting back to Klaus. She knew it was only a matter of time before he came looking for her—and for Jenna. He wouldn't forgive her for betraying him, for defying him. But that battle was one for another day.

Tonight, they had bigger problems.

As they approached the safe house, a small, remote cabin nestled deep in the woods, Sienna finally let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. The location was secure, hidden from any of Klaus's usual contacts or Lucian's followers. It was a place she'd prepared long ago, for moments like this when she needed to disappear.

Sienna parked the car and turned to Jenna. "We'll be safe here for a while. I have some supplies inside. We can rest, plan, and figure out our next move."

Jenna glanced around, the quiet of the forest both calming and unsettling. "It's... remote."

"That's the point," Sienna said with a faint smile. "No one will find us here."

They stepped out of the car, and Sienna quickly unlocked the door to the cabin. Inside, it was simple but well-stocked. There was a small kitchen, a living area with a fireplace, and two bedrooms in the back. It wasn't luxurious, but it would keep them safe.

Jenna wandered in, her fingers brushing over the worn furniture, taking in the coziness of the place despite the circumstances. "How many safe houses do you have?"

Sienna shrugged as she checked the locks on the doors. "Enough to stay off the radar if needed."

Jenna sat down on the old sofa, pulling her knees up to her chest. "Is this what your life has always been like? Running, hiding from threats like this?"

Sienna paused, her expression softening. "More than I'd like to admit. Being a Mikaelson means always looking over your shoulder, always expecting danger. But it wasn't always this way."

Jenna met her gaze, sensing the weight of centuries behind Sienna's words. "And now? With Lucian's followers after us, with Klaus angry... what happens next?"

Sienna sat down beside her, the firelight flickering in her eyes. "Now, we survive. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe, Jenna. But we can't stay here forever. Eventually, we'll need a plan. We'll need allies."

Jenna raised an eyebrow. "Allies? Who?"

Sienna sighed. "There are a few people who might help. Freya, for one. And... Elijah. If I can get him to see reason, he might be able to calm Klaus down. But it's risky."

Jenna looked uncertain. "And what if they don't help? What if Klaus...?"

"I'll deal with him when the time comes," Sienna said firmly. "But right now, the most important thing is keeping you out of harm's way."

Jenna's eyes softened as she looked at Sienna. There was something so protective, so fiercely loyal about her. It made Jenna feel safe, even in the face of all the chaos.

But before they could dwell any longer, there was a loud crash outside. Both of them froze, Sienna's senses instantly on high alert.

"Stay here," Sienna whispered, her voice sharp with urgency as she stood and moved toward the door.

Jenna's heart raced as she stayed rooted to the sofa, watching Sienna disappear into the hallway. The air in the cabin felt thick, the silence now tense with fear.

Sienna slowly opened the door and stepped out into the cool night air. Her eyes scanned the perimeter, every shadow, every flicker of movement in the trees. For a moment, everything was still—too still.

Then, out of the darkness, a figure emerged, stepping into the moonlight.

Sienna's heart sank as she recognized the figure standing just beyond the clearing.

"Klaus," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

He stood there, his expression unreadable, his eyes burning with a mix of fury and something else—betrayal. He didn't move, didn't speak. But the weight of his presence was enough to tell Sienna what she needed to know.

He had found them.
