Getting up early, was something that I had grown accustomed to, in my time of living in downtown Los Angeles. Having other people awake, in my space, was something that I had not been comfortable with. Having people around me, in the same house as me, constantly wanting to know everything about me, was something that I most definietly was not used to, and I did not want to get used to it.
When I normally couldn't sleep and the sleeping pills were not taking the edge off like they normally would, going for a run was always my easiest solution. I was never on the track team or cross country team because of how poor my attendance could get throughout the school year, which didn't bother me, but training like I was, was something that I liked to lie to myself about.
Some people would ask, and query as to why such a young child was out so early in the morning, and I would always say "Need to get in as much practice for the upcoming cross country race" or "I have a meet on the weekend, and I need to train when I can". People never questioned a young child that much, but as I got older, people would stare, and when I would catch them, they would turn away.
Hence, why the mention of people in my space, as I wanted to grab a quick glass of water before I went on my run around the property before school, but that didn't stop the fact that my brother would not take his eyes off me. I bet he expected me to be hard to get up and unmovable when it came to going to school. I didn't hate school, as I liked to learn, but it got repetitive and boring over time. On holidays, when I had been cut back from work due to reduced hours, I would be working on the upcoming years work, getting ahead, so that I knew what I was doing.
The drama though, was something I chose not to get involved in, unless someone had involved me or my friends. That was when we had a problem. "What are you doing up so early?" I wasn't sure what it was about Blade, but for some reason, I seemed to intrigue him. I did not care one iota about the big tattoo guy that's entire personality was about being a storm cloud, hence why I just shrugged my shoulder as I poured a glass of water.
I gulped it down, before I was walking out, but I was stopped. "Did you ask for permission to leave this house?" his authority shivered me down to the bones, but I did not move. I was ready to take this guy on any given day. "Didn't know that I had to ask to run around the property" I bit back, not bothering to turn around to the man that believed that he had full control over me and everything that I did.
"I'll go with her" and with that, I was startled by the boy that had appeared in front of me, shoes in hand, as he had headphones in the other. I slipped my own on, as we wordlessly did our own thing, Blade having nothing more to say to that retort, which I thought was rude. He should have had the decency to say something to Hunter, but we were on our way before he could say anything more.
Hunter opened the door for me, before he offered a headphone, but I just shook my head, before I followed his lead, being half a step behind on our first lap. Even though I wasn't big on him coming, I knew, that to please my brothers, it would do good having someone that I could at least get along with, rather than getting stuck with someone that I didn't like or that I knew couldn't stand me.
