It was three thirty-two pm, school finished about ten minutes ago and I got home about five minutes ago. Nobody was home. My parents were busy running the restaurant - until late hours - again. Probably because it's coming up to summer - the business always shoots up and becomes more popular during summer. I suppose eating tapas whilst sitting under the sun is better than sitting under the rain.

The twins were probably at the mall shopping for more summer clothes in wet seal - even though their closets are already bursting. I guess a girl can never have enough clothes - especially shoes. You can never have enough shoes.

I'm so exhausted - for some reason - and I have no idea why. I've literally done nothing all day. The in-school suspension was just a joke - we didn't do any work and spent most of the day in Wendy's then in a nearby park - nobody even realised we were gone.

The day isn't even over yet. I still have to go to that massive barbecue at Nate's house - I really wasn't in the mood for socialising with hundreds of loud Turkish and Greek people. I already hear tons of loud Mediterranean people in my household - I don't need to hear anymore. I've considered bailing on him but i can't, it's too last minute and Nate would probably never talk to me again. Pfft, he couldn't last an hour without me.

I was currently lying on the couch. Miles sitting beside me - who invited himself over to 'talk'. the TV was playing in the background - although I had no idea what was on. The distant sound of the washing machine in the kitchen also rang in my ears. The sound of the wind pounding against the curtains in all different directions also increased the noise levels in the room. However, despite all this noise, the room was silent. Neither one of us said a word to one another - the tension was thick.

"You've been avoiding me" he finally spoke up, refusing to make eye contact with me. My heart rate Increased. I intended for him to realise - and I'm glad he finally did - but was he really that stupid that it took him two whole days to realise?

"I've been busy" I bluntly replied, denying eye contact.

"Cut the crap. I miss you, Arielle. This isn't us. What happened wasn't my fault. This is so stupid. Can't we just forget this?" he paused. "Not to make any of this situation worse than it already is, but my mom didn't believe any of that bullshit we fed her" he finished, finally making eye contact.

"She'd have to be an idiot to believe any of that" I chuckled, sitting up and returning the eye contact. Mrs. Blake was no idiot. Maybe we could've convinced Mr.Blake, but certainly not her. Nothing could get passed her. But anyway, Miles was right. This isn't us. We hardly ever argue and things like this shouldn't get between us.

"You're right, this isn't us. I might have maybe overreacted a little bit" I bit my lip, making my way over to the other couch which he was seated on. I took a seat on his lap and began twirling strands of his inky black hair around my finger.

"Little bit? You had me worried for two whole days. I mean, you didn't even look at me" he exhaled, relief evident in his chocolate eyes.

"Can we just forget this and never talk about it again?" My fingers trailed around his face. I moved his face towards mine so that his lips were now a few centimetres away from mine.

"Anything, for you" he closed the space between us. It felt like a huge weight had finally been lifted and I could finally breathe again.

Five minutes later, our kiss had deepened and we were now lying on the sofa, Miles on top of me, my fingers tangled in his hair, our tongues colliding, when the door bell rang. Great.

It was now about four pm, Nate had arrived an hour early to pick me up "Hey, bro. What are you doing here?" Miles asked, confused. Oh great, what do I say now?
