The car pulled to a stop outside the courthouse, we choose not to have a wedding ceremony and just have the after party at a nearby hotel.

The events of last night had been constantly on my mind. I haven't told Colton about Khaos and my kiss, but I'm sure he'll be thrilled—he and Marcus have been rooting for this to happen since the beginning. However, as usual, I turned down the idea.

Despite my intoxicated state last night, I don't regret our kiss. I just have mixed emotions about the prospect of us.

Khaos is a complex and mind-altering individual. Behind closed doors, he can be a regular person with emotions, but on some days he's a completely different person, disrespectful and inhumane.

I refused to subject myself to another hostile and toxic environment, khaos would come home and down a bottle of whiskey, a precursor to him turning aggressive. While we both encounter stressful situations at work, I have the ability to keep my troubles to myself and move forward after a difficult day. Khaos, however, reacts very differently— he comes home slamming doors, hitting walls, and lashing out with harsh words, whether they're directed at me or Andre, it happens frequency.

The violence I experienced throughout my life, from the Irish beatings I endured for 6 years to the 4 years of torture I suffered in my foster home, is what has kept me from forming relationships. These traumatic events have made me wary of getting close to others and marrying khaos is either a new experience or life lesson to learn.

"Bella?" A finger snapped in front of my face, jolting me back to attention. I looked around to find myself standing before the wedding registrar, with my family seated in the front row of the courtroom, my father and Enzo included.

Oh how i wish i could make a move right now.

"Sorry, could you repeat that?" I ask the woman politely, my mind still catching up to the world around me.

"Of course, do you take Khaos Grey Cordova to be your lawfully wedded husband?" I turnt to Khaos wide eyed as the judge spoke, how on earth was i lost in thought for this long.

"i do." I nod and khaos looks down at my finger, he slips the wedding band on with a subtle wink.

"Congratulations, you've both made the declarations prescribed by registering law before you today and have a solemnly binding contract with each other in the presence of the witnesses here assembled. It therefore gives me the greatest honour and privilege to announce that you are now husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." The woman slammed the little hammer down on the post.

Khaos's face gleamed with mischief as he leaned in, his arms resting on my hips and pulling me close. Our lips met in a heated, passionate kiss as the sound of clapping and whistling echoed around us. When we finally pulled apart, we were both breathless.

"What were you thinking so hard about?" I furrowed my brows in confusion and looked up at him. "You walked straight past everyone and missed half of what the judge said."
