CHAPTER 8

While waiting for Engfa, Charlotte looked at the menu she wanted to order. Finally iced green tea for herself, hot chocolate for Engfa and two croissants for dessert. After all the drinks and food arrived, her eyes focused on the hot chocolate that was ordered for Engfa. She grinned, remembering that Engfa was very fond to hot chocolate and that woman was not a fans of coffee either. After 10 minutes, Engfa arrived, when she entered the main door of the cafe, Charlotte was just stunned and amazed to see Engfa's extraordinary beauty. Only wearing a white t-shirt, covering by leather jacket with skinny jeans and Red Wing brand safety shoes on her feet make Charlotte's heart not stop beating.

Engfa arrived at the table,

" Sorry Charlotte, I'm late, have you been here for a long time ? "

" Oh no, I just arrived, please have a seat "

Charlotte replied with a smile. Engfa returned her smile before sitting back on the chair front of Charlotte.

" By the way, I ordered hot chocolate for you, your favorite right ? "

Engfa froze for a moment, she didn't think Charlotte still remembered her favorite drink.

" Oh thank you but I prefer coffee actually "

Engfa answered softly. Charlotte was a little surprised. As far as she know, Engfa doesn't like coffee and that's why she never orders coffee for her.

" Oh really, then how about we order something else ? "

" Uh, it's okay. Hot chocolate is fine "

Engfa quickly grabbed her cup of hot chocolate and sipping it.

" Hmm I approve this one, so good "

Charlotte just grinned shyly about the compliment before she asked again

" Hmm by the way Engfa, as long as I know you don't like coffee ? "

Engfa was silent for a moment before her gaze shifted to Charlotte

" Hmm people can change Charlotte, same goes to me and I glad I changed "

Engfa's words made Charlotte even more guilty. She knows she can't be angry or feel disappointed if Engfa had changed because she changed too, especially her heart. It's been a few years since she removed Engfa from her life, so if there any changes happened to that woman, it was actually caused by herself. Herself !

" Hmm yeay, I'm glad you changed too "

Charlotte whispered in her heart.

" Actually, I learned to drink this coffee since I always working until late night. Eight hours of work is not enough for me to complete all the works, so drinking coffee helps me a lot to stay energized but I still like hot chocolate by the way "

Engfa explained, she didn't want Charlotte to think that this change happened because of her.

" So what do we want to discuss today ? "

Engfa tried to change the topic, she didn't want this meeting between two of them today, become more awkward.

" Oh, I have seen the new plan that you emailed me before, I think everything is okay, there's nothing to changes anymore. For now I think we just need to visit the site. Hmm so when are you free Engfa ? "

" Hmm, where is the location ? "

" Brooklyn "

Charlotte noticed that Engfa's expression changed slightly

" Brooklyn ? "

Charlotte just nodded. She actually know what in mind of that woman already.

" Hmm since when did you like the dense areas like Brooklyn, Charlotte ? "

Engfa asked, full of confusion. Charlotte giggled

" Engfa, just like you said, people can change, same goes to me, well I think Brooklyn is one of the safest places, close to New York, not too far from my office, from my parents' house so I think it was good location "

Engfa was silent for a moment, her eyes still not moving from looking at Charlotte.

" Hmm yeay, I know...... I know you have changed. I'm so happy for you Charlotte "

Engfa admitted, her voice barely above a whisper, making Charlotte shiver and it made her feel more guilty. She didn't expect that much honesty from Engfa.

" Thank you Engfa. So when can we visit the site ? "

" Oh wait, I need to check my schedule first "

Charlotte saw Engfa focus on her cell phone looking for her work schedule. The woman's behavior made Charlotte giggle causing Engfa to turn towards her.

" Why Charlotte ? is there anything funny ? "

" Nope, I think you have completely changed, well look at you, you are still forgetful "

" Uh no, I just can't remember all my work schedules, it's too much Charlotte. Usually all these things, my P.A and Nudee who keep always remind me, if they are not with me, of course I have to check myself "

Engfa explains details, she doesn't want to make Charlotte misunderstand about her though.

" Okay, how about this Wednesday ? are you free ? "

" Hmm okay I'm free, so I'll give you the location later, okay ? "

" Okay "

And for first time, they both felt more comfortable even though it was their second meeting after five years.
