Third Person POV:

"What's his problem?" Amanda wondered out loud.

"I don't know, but maybe someone should check on him to make sure he's alright," Jake suggested.

"I'll do it," Vanessa volunteered, before anyone else could.

Everyone stared at her, shocked by her sudden outburst.

"You don't have to if you don't want to Vanessa; no one's forcing you," Liam offered kindly.

"No," she quickly replied. "I want to," she said and it was indeed true.

Despite all the pain Niall put Vanessa through, a small part of her still loved him, she just wasn't aware of it yet.

"Are you sure?" Harry asked her in disbelief.

"Positive," Vanessa answered, before turning to Amanda and Jake. "I won't be long so don't break the news till I get back," she said to the speechless couple.

They both nodded still to shock to say anything.

Before anything more could be said, Vanessa scurried out the living room, well aware of all the eyes that followed her retreating figure.

"What the hell just happened?" Louis said, asking the question that was on everyone's mind.

Calum.

He was there for her when Niall wasn't. He mended her broken heart. He filled her up with life again. He was there when she woke up from her coma. He may have left her broken hearted, but he managed to gain her forgiveness.

It was all over now. Calum won Vanessa over without even trying. There was nothing Niall could do now, except wake up every morning regretting that he let her go. After all it was his fault that Vanessa moved on. He screwed up big time.

"I'm not going to cry," Niall whispered to himself. "No matter how much it hurts to see them together. No matter how much it pains me to see him doing the things I used to do. No matter how much I love her. No matter how much I regret letting her go. No matter how much I want her back. No matter how much it breaks my heart knowing that she doesn't love me anymore. I'm not going to fucking cry," He said, but by the end of his rant a tear had already slid down his cheek.

He quickly wiped it away, but more kept streaming down his face. So he gave up and put his face in his hands and sobbed.

When Vanessa stepped outside, she saw a scene that broke her heart...Niall crying. His back was turned, so he didn't know she was there. Tears were streaming down his face, his shoulders were slumped, and occasionally sobs would escape his lips.

She yearned to hug him and whisper that everything would be alright, but she restrained herself from doing so.

"Niall?" she whispered, her voice cracking at the end.

He whipped around expecting to see Ana or one of the lads, but to his utter surprise he saw Vanessa. He watched as she walked towards him.

"Oh, Niall," she said wrapping her arms around his neck.

He stood there motionless, but eventually wrapped his arms around her waist. He buried his face in the crook of her and smiled in content.

No words were said, they just stood there embracing each other as if they were gonna be taken away.
