Shadow and Sonic both exited the car when they made it to the cafe. It was an aesthetic café painted in white where it was located by the seaside. So while customers enjoy their snacks and drinks, they also get a beautiful view of the bright blue ocean in front of their table while listening to soothing light tunes played by the café. Customers could also sit outdoors if they really want to feel the warm ocean breeze and hear the waves.

"Wow, where did you even find out about a place this pretty?" Sonic asked as he sat down. They both decided to pick an indoor table.

"A friend in class recommended it to me. Do you like it here?" Shadow asked, he also pulled a chair and sat down.

Sonic looked around and smiled, "so far the vibe here is better than any places I've ever visited."

"Haha, I agree with you. Not to mention we get to see the ocean too." Shadow smiled back and stared at the wide window. "The color is just as beautiful as your fur."

Sonic was taken aback by the sudden and unexpected flirt that he instantly turned red. Shadow stared back and chuckled at the expression.

"I mean, am I wrong?"

Sonic laughed nervously and his voice stuttered. "Well– thank you. That's so sweet of you."

"You're very welcome." He winked.

Sonic smiled sweetly and averted his eyes away shyly. Every day his crush always manage to make him fall even harder.

"So...about the party." Shadow spoke but he paused when the waitress came with their order. He then grabbed his glass of drink and stirred it with the straw. "Have you found a date yet?"

Sonic was a little surprised that the question was asked to him this early than he expected. He took the small spoon and scooped a small portion of his chocolate cake.

"No. Honestly, I'm super nervous to ask anyone out." He admitted with a chuckle, "but if I don't have a date, I won't be able to join the senior party and I know Silver will be so upset about it." He stated before eating the cake.

"Hm." Shadow hummed and also grabbed the small spoon so he could eat his own dessert. "Same here, but I really do wanna go to the party even though next year I'll become a senior." He chuckled.

Sonic stared at him and smiled, "when you become a senior, I'm sure everyone would be thrilled to be in your party."

Shadow stared back, "really?"

"Yeah! You're a fun guy, so if you throw a party I'm sure it'll be just as fun."

It was a simple compliment, but it managed to melt Shadow's heart. He smiled back and looked away bashfully.

"Why are you always so damn cute?"

Sonic perked his ears up and tried to deny what Shadow said.

"A– ahaha, I'm? What?" He tilted his head and chuckled nervously.

"Anyway!" Shadow suddenly said and jolted Sonic on his seat. "I have to tell you how annoying it's been for me to be with Mephiles ever since he started dating Silver."

The topic has changed but Sonic didn't even realize it, he just laughed at how Shadow said that with a tired and annoyed tone. The typical tone where one complain about their annoying sibling.

"But why? Do you guys share a room?"

"God, no! We have our own rooms but he sometimes go to mine and brag about his date allll the timeee." Shadow rolled his eyes and leaned back on his seat.
