She walked out of the hallway and into a beautiful garden, filled with pomegranate trees with orange blossoms and sweet-smelling fruits, multicolored mushrooms, poisonous scrubs and luminous plants that grow without sunlight. It was a garden out of this world, which didn't go along with the aesthetic of the Underworld.
A man was sitting in a stone bench, his upper body resting on the table as he plucked petals from a flower.
"Sorrow doesn't suit you, brother" Thea told him as she approached.
He stopped plucking the petals and looked up at her, his black eyes cold. He went back to what he was doing with a tired sigh.
"It is the only thing I have these days" Hades mumbled, blowing a strand of his hair out of his face.
"Come on, you look ridiculous" she said, sitting down next to him with her legs crossed "And Persephone would kill you if she finds out your ruining her flowers"
"To kill me, she'd have to be here" he mumbled, resting his chin on the table but leaving the flower alone.
"Hades," she grabbed his elbow and raised her eyebrows "it's only six months!"
"But then she'll be back for six months, only to leave for another six months again" he replied, his fist closing in anger.
"You made the deal with Demeter-"
"No, I was forced to go along with the deal! That being the only way to be with Persephone" he sat straight, pointing a finger at her.
"Better than nothing" she shook her head and looked at him with a soft look.
Hades stared at her in silence, calming himself, and slowly nodded his head in agreement.
"Yes, better than nothing" he whispered "But this time it's not the same. A war is happening above, she could be hurt!"
"The war is happening in the ocean, for now" she assured him "And she's not there"
Hades growled in displeasure and rested his head on his hand. He looked down on Thea's clothes and frowned strangely at her.
"Why are you only wearing white?"
"It's my signature color!" She replied, her arms stretched out in front of her as she looked down on her clothes with a smile.
"It's horrible" Hades pointed out.
"I look fantastic!" She said defensively, frowning at him.
"You look like like you belong in a madhouse"
Thea pushed him on the shoulder and he chuckled to himself.
"And you look like you belong in a funeral, but I never tell you that, do I?"
"You just did" he shrugged and she stood up "Oh, come on, little sister!"
"I came here to keep you company, and that's how you treat me!" She screamed over her shoulder as she walked away.
"I'm sorry, come back!" He screamed, but there was an amusing smile on his face "You look fantastic, little sister!"
"I have better things to do!" She screamed as she heard a laughter behind her, before she vanished into a blinding white light.
