Concern appeared on his face and chased away the relief that he was feeling when he saw the tears in my eyes and pained look on my face. 'Cass?' he mouthed while he took another step toward me, his eyes searching my face to see what secrets I held underneath, which I didn't say out loud.

I shook my head, and tears fell out of my eyes while I raced towards him, earning a small shocked 'Cass' from the male behind me. I didn't say a word, and I dropped my bag at my feet, not caring about anything or anyone else, not even the man in the black car that was watching the whole thing with a tight grip on his steering wheel and cold, dark blue eyes.

I barreled into Ren's arms, earning a small soft, 'oomph,' from the male in front of me, and he took a step back to steady himself before both of us fell.

Instantly, he wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up, and I buried my face into the crook between his neck and shoulders while I sobbed out my aching heart and wrapped my legs around his waist. He placed one arm around my waist and one hand behind my head while he soothed me in a way that only he could, even though a part of me wanted the male in the car to soothe me and not him...

"You left me," I said in between sobs while my heart continued to ache and become filled with pain and sadness, and my voice was barely above a whisper. "Why did you leave me?"

Ren closed his eyes and set his jaw while he held onto me tighter as if he was afraid that I was going to disappear, something that a part of me wished would happen, especially since we were doing this in front of the school where my "son" and "mate" were watching us. "Lo so, (I know,)" he said, his voice barely above a whisper while he spoke in Italian. "Mi dispiace. (I'm sorry.)"

"Why did you leave me?" I asked again without switching to Italian, even though I had a feeling that was what Ren wanted me to swap to Italian. "Why did you leave without telling me that you were leaving?"

Ren set his jaw and held me tighter while he rubbed his back. "Mi dispiace, (I'm sorry,)" he said again, his voice barely above a whisper without answering my questions about where he had gone and why he had left without telling me where he was going.

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes. I didn't say a word while I grabbed one of my best friends tighter, and my heart became filled with pain and sadness.

"Perdonami, (Forgive me,)" he said, his voice barely above a whisper while he placed a small kiss to the side of my head. "Per favore. Mi dispiace. (Please. I am sorry.)"

I hesitated before I licked my lips and cleared my throat. "I know, but that doesn't stop the pain or sadness I felt and am still feeling, Chewie," I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I grabbed him tighter.

Ren hummed and slowly nodded. "Lo so, (I know,)" he said and rubbed my back while he tried to soothe me. He cleared his throat and licked his lips, holding me together against him. "Adesso però sono qui. (I am here now, though.)"

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes. "Lo so, (I know,)" I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I switched to his language. "But I don't know if it's too late or not." I couldn't help but switch back to English when I talked to him, and Ren rolled his eyes and scowled, pressing his lips into a thin line.

"Ne parleremo dopo, (We'll talk later,)" he said with a small hum in his voice, and his voice was cold and hard. He cleared his throat and licked his lips while he placed me down on my feet, and I stared at him with wide eyes filled with pain and sadness. He gently placed his hand on either side of my face and moved my head so that he could press a small kiss to my forehead, and I bit back a small snort and closed my eyes, enjoying his warmth and comfort.

He cleared his throat and moved away from me before he walked over to the car door, and he opened the door, gesturing for me to enter the car while I watched him. "Andiamo avanti e andiamo. Possiamo parlare dopo. (Let's go ahead and go. We can talk later.)"
