"What?" Beast Boy asked. "I just saw Jesse," she said emotionlessly and in shock. Beast Boy tensed up at the sound of his name. "Where?" He asked. "He's walking on the sidewalk," she said without even looking. "He better not come in here," Beast Boy said. Sure enough he did. They heard the jingle of the bells attached the the pull handle on the inside of the door and heard footsteps. "Just stand your ground," Beast Boy whispered to her. She turned around proudl, the bag with her purchase in hand and walked towards the door. "Raven!" She heard him say. "Oh, hello Jason, I mean Jesse," she said, acting as though he had never meant anything to her, when in reality he broke her heart. Beast Boy guided his hand behind her back, leading her out the door. "Bye," he said, waving shyly behind the two.
"I'm sorry he was there, Raven," Beast Boy said, apologizing for actions
that weren't his own. "It's fine, Beastie," Raven insisted. "It's not your fault he showed up." Beast Boy gave her a half smile. "Just don't let him ruin our time, okay? Where do you want to go next?" He asked. "Well, Sugarbush Park is only 2 blocks over," she said. "Then we'll go there."The two walked for a while, just talking about random things like their favorite food and music and their thoughts on the villains. They arrived at the park and sat down on a bench to continue their conversation. He hand was on the bench and his hand went over hers. "I know, Doctor Light is so annoying," Beast Boy said, agreeing with Raven's comment about the villain.
Then two girls walked by. One had long brown hair with a purple headband in place and the one beside her was blonde with short hair that was curled on the ends. The were both dressing in slightly preppy outfits. When they walked by the two they stared. "Omg do you see her?" The brunette whispered. "What a freak," muttered the blonde. Raven's eyes opened wide and her heart sunk. She felt totally powerless. Beast Boy noticed this and tried to console her. "Don't worry, Rae. They were probably just talking about me," he said. "No, they weren't. They said her," she said. "Maybe you misheard or -" "Stop Beast Boy!" She shouted. He tense up. She hadn't talked to him like that for maybe a year. "You can't shelter me from this. I know what people think about me. I know I'm just a half-demon freak," she says, looking away, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Hey...hey," Beast Boy said, turning her chin so she faced him. "You, are an angel," he said seriously. "I already told you, Garfield I'm-" "-an angel. And I'll tell you why," he said, cutting her off. "You are genetically a half-demon. But you are a good person. I can't even imagine how hard it must be to go against who you were born as. You were born to be evil and take over the world or whatever, but instead you're saving it. That's what makes you an angel." Suddenly Raven lunged forward and embraced him in a hug. "Thank you Beast Boy. I want you to know that even though I bother you a lot and act like I don't care, you mean the world to me and I've never loved anyone more than I love you."
