Maddie sat at the counter with her high school friend, Marcus, and watched Douglas make some pancakes. "So, you're starting Mission Creek High now?"

Marcus nodded, "Yeah, my dad thinks it's time now."

Maddie beamed, "Ooh, you can be friends with my brothers. They're about your age, so you don't have to just hang out with a six year old like myself."

Marcus nodded, saying, "I'll find them when I get there, okay? And you might be right. I don't think they need to know that you know me already. Can we pretend that I met them first and the two of us never met? We can make it like a game."

The bionic kid furrowed her eyebrows at him as she let out, "You don't want to be my friend anymore? Who's gonna look after me after school on the playground?"

Marcus sadly smiled some, saying, "Like you said, I need friends my age, Mads. And- And remember, you're stronger than you think."

The said six year old sighed and glanced down at the table sadly. "Okay... can I still come over after you hang out with them?"

Douglas spoke up for his son, "Of course you can, kid. You're part of our family now." Marcus nodded at that as well.

Maddie still looked unsure about acting like they never met but nodded instead as Marcus looked at the time and replied, "And I gotta go to school! See you around, kid." He then raced out of the house.

Maddie sighed and then shouldered her book bag on her shoulders, pixelating somewhat, as Douglas noticed and added, "He's just a teenager, kid. He just wants to make a good first impression on kids his age."

Maddie nodded and hopped down from the stool she sat on and let out, "Yeah, I also gotta get to school..." She then left out of their house and teleported away.

Maddie sat on the couch listening to her brothers practice their instruments with their new friend Marcus who pretended like he didn't know her at all, which stung her heart.

Yet, she tried to be a good friend and be sympathetic and understanding for him.

"Well, it's only our first day, but you guys sound great!" Marcus spoke up to both Adam and Chase after they finished their first song, "I think you both have real raw talent."

"Oh, well, if our talent is raw, then we better get cooking!" Adam chuckled as his little sister laughed at his corny joke.

"Leo, what are you doing?" Chase questioned their stepbrother who had been moving to different spots 'spying' on them even if it was obvious.
