Colby Brock met Cassia Holt at a party, immediately drawn to her green eyes and the dreams she shared about her future. Beneath her confident smile, he noticed a quiet fear of moving too fast, of letting emotions run ahead. As they spent time together, Colby felt her hesitation, the weight of her past making her unsure about love. With their connection growing stronger, they both realized that they needed to take a step back and slow it down.
SUMMARY
CASSIA HOLT had just moved to Las Vegas from her small town in Georgia, chasing her dream job and trying to adjust to the fast pace of the city.
She was still getting used to the idea of being far from home, and parties weren't really her scene. She'd never been to many back in Georgia, preferring quieter nights focused on her future instead of distractions. That night, however, was different. While at a local coffee shop, she unexpectedly bumped into Colby Brock, who, after a brief conversation, invited her to a party he and his best friend were going to later that evening. Colby noticed the hesitation in her eyes but encouraged her to come anyway, promising it would be a good time. Though Cassia wasn't sure about it, her best friend, who she now lived with in Las Vegas, convinced her to step out of her comfort zone and attend the party.
She'd never been to a party before, always focused on and focused on her career to ever consider it. But her best friend reassured her that it would be a fun experience, a chance to let loose and meet new people. When they arrived at the party, Cassia felt a wave of uncertainty—everything was loud, fast, and unfamiliar. But as the night went on, she found herself drawn to Colby, his easygoing nature putting her at ease. Their conversations flowed effortlessly, and there was a connection she hadn't expected. As the night went on, the fast pace of everything overwhelmed Cassia, and Colby sensed it, knowing they needed to slow things down, trusting that what they had was worth the wait.
