Aldara and Zuko were best friends since birth, but things changed when Mai entered the picture. Aldara grew upset as Zuko spent more time with her, and when Zuko was banished, Aldara followed him. However, their bond began to fade when Zuko pursued the Avatar, and Aldara joined Aang's group instead. Despite being on opposite sides, they still cared deeply for each other but never confessed their feelings. Now, with Aldara thinking Zuko likes Mai, she fears it's too late for them.

Aldara and Zuko have been inseparable since the day they were born, growing up together as best friends and facing the world side by side. Their bond was unbreakable until Mai entered the picture. Initially, Aldara was friendly towards Mai, but as Zuko began spending more time with her, Aldara became upset, feeling left out and hurt. When Zuko was banished from the Fire Nation, Aldara stood by him, even facing exile herself. Though she was devastated to be cast out of her home, she found comfort in being with Zuko, believing that their friendship would remain as strong as ever. But when Zuko decided to pursue the Avatar, their paths began to diverge, and Aldara's attempts to convince him otherwise only pushed them further apart.
As Zuko continued to hunt the Avatar, Aldara joined Aang and his friends, and despite being on opposite sides, the deep care and loyalty they still held for each other remained. Their connection was undeniable, but both were too scared to admit the romantic feelings they had harbored for one another for years. Now, with Aldara believing that Zuko might be falling for Mai, she fears it may be too late for them to ever confess that, through it all, it has always been each other.
