The beginning ( part 2 )

( Y/n POV)

I woke up from my peaceful slumber by loud banging on my door from none other than Lucy. Lucy may have been a good roommate but sometimes she can be a real bitch especially if she is having a house party. " I'm coming." I called out and sat up, I rubbed my eyes getting off the bed and opening the door to see Lucy with her arms crossed and in one of her hands she was holding my phone. " took you long enough." She said sourly. 

" what do you want this late?" I asked glancing at the clock on the wall seeing it was around 11:00pm. " your phone has been going off and interrupting our movie." She said. I glanced past her looking over to the living room seeing the guy she brought over earlier, I had thought he would have left by now. I looked back at her as she passed me my phone and I took it then closed the door so her and the guy could go back to their movie date or whatever they were doing...I might want to get my headphones just in case. 

I looked at my phone seeing I had missed a call from an unknown number. I don't usually answer to any number I didn't know but because I had applied to a job I kinda had to. I called back and placed the phone up to my ear, the phone rung for a few moments before a familiar voice picked up the phone. " Hello Pigsy speaking what can I get for you." Pigsy said. " Hey this is Y/n, you called me earlier is this about the job?" I asked. " oh right Y/n! You got the job." He said which honestly surprised me.

" Wait what!? Don't you want to interview me before hiring me." I said shocked. "I normally would but my husband put in a good word about you and your situation so I believed you are qualified." He told me. Husband? Does he mean Tang? I mean Tang was the only person I talked to that day so it had to be him. " So you will start on Monday at 9:00am. Don't be late." He said and hung up. I was a little confused by all of that but whatever. I have a job now that can help me pay the bills and I won't have to dip into my savings that much anymore. 

I placed my phone down and flopped down on the bed again and sighed staring up at the ceiling. Today was Saturday so I didn't have to do anything tomorrow so I was probably going to explore the city a bit more and I might even go back to Pigsy's noodles just to get more of a idea of the regulars and I should probably also thank Tang, plus those noodles were probably the best I have ever had and I want to have them again sometime. Would it be weird to visit my workplace as a customer? I don't know.

The following morning I had gotten up early and got ready for the day and made myself some coffee/tea/hot chocolate ( whatever you prefer). I went to knock on Lucy's door to ask if she needed anything when I was out but I was quickly stopped by some...noises and decided to pretend I never heard that ( points if you know who I'm referencing), and just like that I was out the door. I wandered around the city for a while spotting meany different things like a cheese tea stall and a Anti-gravity arcade, but I would probably never actually go since I get motion sickness ( if you don't get motion sickness just pretend you don't like floating.) I even grabbed a snack as I walked around the city.

Eventually it was past 12:00pm ( lunch time!) and you made your way over to Pigsy's noodles not only for his delicious noodles but to also thank Tang. When you got close you spotted Mk with a black haired girl with green highlights and they spotted you too. " oh hey Y/n!" Mk waved excitedly with stars in his eyes like he was talking to a celebrity. Before you could say anything the girl with green highlights spoke. " oh~ so you're Y/n." She said looking you up and down. You couldn't tell if she was checking you out or sizing you up but it's also entirely possible she was wondering if she could take you on in a fight...she just looks like someone who would do that.

" Well then. My name is Mei, Mei dragon!" She stated enthusiastically and held out her hand which you shook. " Wait dragon? " you asked in which she smiled sheepishly. " Yep, I'm the descendant of the dragon of the west." She said her face slightly faltering. You decided not to push it anymore and put on a smile.  " well it's nice to meet you Mei!" You said letting go of her hand and standing up straight. Her smile returned and seemed to just stare at me for a few moment before blinking and snapping out of it. She quickly looked away bashfully before looking back. " Anyway Mk and I were planning to head to the Anti-gravity arcade!" She said slyly making her way beside you. " wanna join?" She asked cheekily. You pondered the thought but shook your head. " Maybe another time Mei. Sorry." You said and she just shrugged. Before you could say anything more she grabbed Mk's wrist and ran off with him in the direction where you saw the Anti-gravity arcade. 

You stood there stunned for a few moments before chuckling at their antics. Those two seem fun. With that you walked into Pigsy's noodles. " welcome dear costumer- " Pigsy said before cutting himself off seeing it was you. " oh. Hey kid...you don't start work until tomorrow." He said. " Don't worry I'm aware, I just wanted to come by for lunch again." You said reassuring him. You looked over and spotted Tang who also spotted you and waved you over. You walked over and sat down beside him sighing a little. " Hey I didn't expect to see you today." Tang said with a smile which you happily returned. " Yeah those noodles were so good I had to come back for another bowl." You said. Tang chuckled agreeing with you " By the way have you met Mk yet? He's going to be your co-worker!" Tang told you. You nodded before waving over Pigsy and getting the same thing you got last time ( I'm a basic bi#ch). After thanking Tang and paying for your food you left the noodle shop.

You pulled out your phone only now realizing the time. How did it get so late so fast!? You quietly groaned and began walking home as the street lights came on. You kept walking until you crossed a alley way and flinched as you heard a loud crash. Your head snapped towards the alley way staring into it. From the darkness you saw two yellow eyes staring back at you. It's gaze was sharp but also curious. The thing leaped out from the darkness and you covered your face with your arms but felt no impact. You cautiously lowered your arms only to see...a black cat? You sighed feeling a little dumb for getting so startled by a dumb cat. 

You knelt down towards the cat reaching out your hand letting the cat get more comfortable with you. As the cat sniffed your hand you looked at it closer. It didn't seem like just a normal cat it had a big scar across its left eye and a red scarf around its neck. It was definitely a unique cat. The cat after sniffing your hand seemed to immediately warm up to you snuggling its head under your hand making you pet it. It was honestly pretty cute, but sadly your apartment didn't allow pets and even if they did this cat is wearing a scarf so it probably belongs to someone.

After a few moments of petting the cat you stood back up feeling upset you had to leave the cat, but you also should probably be back home soon. You continued walking until you made it to your apartment and once you entered you immediately made your way to your room not even bothering to change before going to bed. You would take a shower in the morning anyway. You grabbed your phone and set a bunch of alarms and set the alarm to the most annoying sound you could think of so you would actually wake up.

You sighed letting your body melt into the mattress and drifted off to sleep.

 completely unaware of the monkey demon watching you from the shadows.
