Ninjago: Ninja Life

(Koko's POV)

Having spent the last while putting my things away on the Bounty and changing out of my work attire into a more adventurous outfit, I left the quarters I was given on Wu's ship and began heading off to join my son and his friends out on the deck, hoping to get some nice photos of the oceanic landscape for a photo album of our adventure 

My new brown boots carried me across the Destiny's Bounty clean wooden deck, my footsteps being noticed by the Ninja who all turned in my direction "Woah, nice style Mrs G, love that dark orange jacket!" Nya complimented my outfit with a toothy smile "Why thank you very much Nya,  I thought this would be the perfect thing to wear for such an adventure" I thanked the Water Ninja as I tightened the small green scarf around my neck, ensuring any high winds wouldn't blow it away 

"I'm much more of a city boy myself, but I gotta say that this is a dope view" Cole admired the sights around us, leaning against the golden railing of the Bounty as he snapped a few photos of the bright blue ocean on his cellphone. I took my small camera out of my satchel and started doing the same, taking some shots of the beautiful open sea, the light from the blazing sun above us really making the water surrounding us sparkle wonderfully 

As I steadily moved my camera across the ocean landscape, I noticed something in the distance through my lens. Zooming my lens to get a better look at whatever it was that was across from us in the distance, I got a glimpse at what seemed to be some type of lighthouse "Well that's strange" I voiced my surprise at the sight of the structure, getting the attention of the six Ninja around me "What's strange?" My son asked concerned "Is something wrong?" He looked in the direction I spotted the tall building 

"No nothing like that, it's just that there's what looks to be a lighthouse in the distance that I don't remember ever seeing on any map of Ninjago" I told my son and his friends, intrigued as to why this one lighthouse had never been documented on a map, was it on purpose? "It certainly seems like an interesting structure, upon scanning the lighthouse I am receiving nothing about it" Zane's robotic voice chimed in, his Nindroid eyes zooming in to better see the large rock based lighthouse

"Then I say we be the first to explore it!" Kai eagerly shouted out, pointing in the direction of the lighthouse "A s-s-strange mysterious l-lighthouse that nobody e-e-else knows about and isn't on a s-s-single map? I d-d-don't know, that sounds like a h-h-horrible idea" Jay anxiously spoke, clearly not being as excited about the lighthouse as Kai was. "I'm all for an adventure, but I think we should stay on track with getting to the Dark Island, we shouldn't let something like a strange lighthouse distract us from our actual mission" Nya shut her brother's idea down, much to the dismay of the spiky haired teenager as he pouted with crossed arms 

I nodded along with what the Water Ninja was saying "Nya's right, you should all be focusing on stopping whatever it is Garmadon is up to on the Dark Island, time is certainly of the essence so we can't allow ourselves to get sidetracked with such distractions" I informed the six teenage Ninja, the mysterious lighthouse becoming nothing but a distant dot as the Bounty continued sailing forward, I made sure to jot down its location on a small map I had in my satchel 

So far our journey to the Dark Island has been surprisingly peaceful and enjoyable, a strange thing to say about an expedition to a place as evil as the Dark Island but it's somehow true, we've had nothing but pleasant views and clear skies, I fear we might not have it this easy when we get closer to the island however. For now though, I'm just going to enjoy the beautiful sunset we're able to see without any large and obnoxious skyscrapers in the way, definitely a photo I'll be adding to the photo album for this adventure 

"Hey Mom?" The curious voice of my son caught my attention, I turned to face him with a raised brow "It kind of seems like you know a lot about the Dark Island and whatever might be on it, do you think you could maybe tell us what you know?" Lloyd asked me "Yeah Mrs G, it would be great to know what we're gonna be dealing with once we get there" Nya stepped forward, also eager to know what awaits us on the Dark Island
