Gerasim Belinsky was exiled in Europe, but after his cousin, Nikolai Belinsky was killed in action during the Great War, Gerasim joined the Red Army and infiltrated the Russian Imperial Army. During the Aether events, he met two versions of Nikolai, the Primis and the Ultimis. Gerasim deeply respected Primis Nikolai, but also took pity for Ultimis Nikolai's alchollism and pain for losing his loved ones. After the Aether, he, Kian, Sigmund and Asuka fought as mercenaries during World War II and the Cold War.

Gerasim: I'm Sergeant Gerasim Belinsky, former Russian Imperial soldier and spy of the Red Army.

Gerasim: I once had a cousin. His name was Nikolai Belinsky. We served in the Imperial Russian Army. However, while I was exiled in Europe, he died in battle, during the Great War. So I decided to act as a double agent for the Red Army, to infiltrate the Imperial Russian Army.
Gerasim: During the Aether, I have met two versions of Nikolai. *smiles* One Nikolai was humble, intelligent and a man whom you would get along with. He was willing to give his life for the greater good. *sad* The other Nikolai was a drunkard, less intelligent. He was drowning on Vodka, for losing his wife and brother.
