"HAVE FUN," Monique called out, a smile gracing her lips as she dropped off Robby, Alyssa, Miguel, and her daughter at the dojo. Charlie leaned over from the front seat, giving her mom a quick hug, "Thanks, Mom. See you later."
The four teenagers piled out of the car, quickly falling into step with Hawk, who was already heading toward the entrance, "Yo, did you catch that video I sent of last year's Sekai Taikai?"
Oh yes, the Sekai Taikai. Johnny had informed her of Silver's intentions on going global and how he even had to stoop so low as to visit Kreese for intel. Though, thanks to the efforts of Johnny, Daniel, Chozen, and even Amanda, they'd managed to convince the board to at least give them a shot at competing.
"Man, who knew people could kick that high?" Miguel murmured, shaking his head in disbelief. Robby nodded in agreement, "Or that hard."
"Guess that's why it's the biggest karate competition in the world," Sam chimed in as she joined the group.
"I heard last year's winners did a big car commercial in Taiwan!" Hawk exclaimed, his eyes wide.
Mitch's jaw dropped. "Imagine being in a car commercial! What would you even do with all that money?"
Chris didn't hesitate, "Buy a yacht. With a hot tub." He gestured expansively with his arms. "And fill it with smarties . . . and hotties!"
The group erupted in laughter, just as Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen approached, drawn in by the sound.
"Alright, alright," Daniel chuckled, shaking his head. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Remember, Cobra Kai is going to do everything they can to get a spot. And if they win this time, kids all over the world are gonna have to deal with the same kind of crap you guys have been through."
Sam stepped forward to her father's words, "But if we win, we can show the world how to stop them."
Chozen nodded solemnly. "First, you must prove you can compete with the best."
"But in order to do that, you gotta be better than the best. Which is why we're gonna kick your asses into high gear!" Johnny clapped his hands together like it was his favourite idea ever.
"Oh, yay," Alyssa groaned dramatically, slumping her head onto Charlie's shoulder.
"Sensei Lawrence, sensei toguchi and i are going to get you ready for the presentation tomorrow, okay? So come on, let's get you warmed up." Daniel instructed.
Before anyone could even get a step in, Johnny let out a yell, "Go! Move those asses."
The students scattered, each finding their space to stretch and prepare. Charlie watched Robby walk over towards Johnny and Miguel, his expression stormy until a joke seemed to diffuse the tension. Charlie smiled, glancing away, and focused on the task.
