Chapter Ten

Michael's Point of View:

Two weeks had passed, meaning I've already been in college for a month. It was a tiring month, that's for damn sure. The frat parties were also getting more interesting, since everyone was trying to let loose because of all the schoolwork that's been getting thrown onto everybody lately.

I happened to be going to a frat party tonight, I practically needed to let loose. The amount of work I'd been getting was ridiculous, my parents were right when they said that college was gonna be ten times harder than high school.

"Michael," Luke spoke, taking me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"You coming?"

I nodded. Luke and I left the dorm quickly, since the party had already started. By the time we were there, the house was more packed than ever before.

"Hey!" Luke yelled over the music, as Nicole approached us.

"Hi baby," she smiled, kissing his cheek.

"Where's Lauren?" I asked, interrupting their little moment.

"She didn't come." Nicole shrugged.

"Why?" I asked, slightly frowning.

"She's stressing over schoolwork,"

I groaned. "That doesn't surprise me."

Nicole laughed. "It doesn't surprise any of us,"

Nicole and Luke didn't say anything else. They walked away, leaving me there to figure out what I was gonna do. I could leave and go to Lauren, but I really did wanna stay at this party.

"Michael!" Angelique squealed, running over to me. "Come play truth or dare!"

"Okay," I nodded.

Walking over to the large circle of people, I sat down next to Angelique, since that was the only available seat. I zoned in and out as the game began, since my name hadn't been called at all. So far nothing interesting had happened. The only dares were for some girls to kiss their ex boyfriends, and some to take a bunch of shots. It was the usual.

That is, until my name was called.

"Michael," a girl named Natalie grinned. "Truth or dare?"

"Uh, dare." I shrugged, not very interested in this game anymore.

"I dare you to.. Kiss, no - make out with Angelique."

Feeling my eyes go wide, I didn't even have a say before Angelique threw her lips on mine. I tensed up, and didn't kiss back. I just sat there, frozen, not knowing what to do. When my brain finally caught up with what was happening, I pushed Angelique off of me.

"Why didn't you kiss back?" she whined, trying to lean in again.

"I have a girlfriend!" I yelled. That wasn't technically true, but it felt like it was.

"I-I didn't know." she frowned, moving away from me.

"Of course you didn't know, you go around and throw yourself at random guys," I scoffed.

Everyone else in the group snickered. I got up and left the circle, wanting to get as far away from this frat house as possible.

When outside, I wiped my face off with the back of my hand. I wanted to get the taste of Angelique's tongue out of my mouth, I needed to.

Deciding that I was gonna ditch the frat party all together, I started walking down the long street, on my way to the dorms.
