Ravindra Jadeja never expected his life to take such a turn. One day, he was a free man, the next, he was married to the most powerful mafia king—Mahindra Singh Dhoni. A forced marriage, a deal sealed between their families, leaving no room for his consent.

"Wear this," Mahi tossed a sherwani at him. His voice was cold, demanding.

Jaddu clenched his fists. "You think you own me now?"

Mahindra stepped closer, towering over him. "I do. The moment you signed the papers, you became mine. So, don’t test my patience."

Jaddu swallowed his anger. He knew there was no escape. With a heavy heart, he changed into the wedding attire. The ceremony passed in a blur—he barely remembered repeating the vows, placing the garland, or the sindoor on his forehead. All he knew was that his life was no longer his own.

---

After the wedding, Jaddu sat on their bed, arms crossed, waiting for his so-called husband. When Mahi walked in, he didn’t spare him a glance.

"Sleep on the couch," Mahi ordered, loosening his tie.

Jaddu scoffed. "Your ego won’t even let you share a bed with your own husband?"

Mahindra turned, his sharp eyes locking with Jaddu’s. "You’re here because of a deal, not because I wanted you. Don’t expect love from me."

Those words stung. Jaddu bit his lip, turning away. He had expected this, but hearing it still hurt.

Days turned into weeks, then months. Mahindra remained distant, his affection hidden behind a wall of cold arrogance. He never mistreated Jaddu, but he never showed warmth either. It was frustrating. He acted as if Jaddu didn’t exist unless absolutely necessary.

But Jaddu wasn’t blind. He noticed things. The way Mahi’s fingers twitched when he saw Jaddu talking to another man. The way his jaw tightened when Jaddu smiled at someone else. And the way his eyes softened for a brief second before he masked it with indifference.

One night, Mahi returned home covered in blood. Jaddu, despite knowing the nature of his husband’s business, felt his heart stop.

"Are you hurt?!"

Mahi avoided his gaze. "It’s not my blood. Go to bed."

Jaddu refused to move. "Let me check!"

For the first time, Mahi didn’t push him away. He let Jaddu clean his bruises, his touch gentle. The silence between them was heavy, but comforting.

"Why do you care?" Mahi finally asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jaddu met his gaze. "Because I may not have chosen this marriage, but I choose to care."

Mahi didn’t respond. But that night, for the first time, he let Jaddu sleep on the bed beside him.

Their fragile relationship shattered when Jaddu got hurt.

A bullet meant for Mahi hit Jaddu instead. It all happened too fast. One second, he was arguing with Mahi, the next, pain shot through his abdomen, and he collapsed.

The moment Mahi saw him fall, blood pooling around him, something inside him snapped.

"JADDU!" Mahi ran to him, pressing his hands over the wound. "Stay with me!"

Jaddu smiled weakly. "So… you do care…"

"Shut up! You’re not allowed to die!" Mahi’s voice cracked. For the first time, he looked scared. "Don’t you dare close your eyes!"

Jaddu wanted to laugh, but the pain was too much. "Mahi… it hurts…"

"I know, baby. Just hold on. I’ve got you."

---

When Jaddu woke up in the hospital, Mahi was beside him, his hand clutching his tightly.

"You idiot," Mahi whispered. "You almost left me."

Jaddu chuckled weakly. "And here I thought you didn’t love me."

Mahindra’s jaw clenched. Then, in a rare moment of vulnerability, he pressed a kiss to Jaddu’s forehead. "I do. I always did. I was just too much of a coward to admit it."

Tears welled in Jaddu’s eyes. "Then prove it."

And Mahi did. From that day, he never let Jaddu out of his sight. He became his protector, his lover, his everything.

Their life took an unexpected turn when Jaddu revealed he was pregnant.

Mahi stared at him, completely frozen. "You’re… what?"

"Pregnant," Jaddu repeated, nervous. "I… I don’t know how you’ll react, but—"

Mahi crushed him in a hug. "You’re carrying our baby…" His voice was filled with awe, disbelief, and something soft. "I swear, I will protect you both with my life."

Tears slipped down Jaddu’s cheeks as he clung to Mahi. For the first time, he truly felt like he belonged.

Mahi became insufferable. He wouldn’t let Jaddu do anything.

"Mahi, I can walk on my own," Jaddu groaned as Mahi insisted on carrying him up the stairs.

"You’re not taking a single risk," Mahi grumbled. "Not with my baby inside you."

Jaddu rolled his eyes but secretly loved the attention. For a man who once refused to even share a bed, Mahi had become an entirely different person.

As Jaddu’s belly grew, Mahi started talking to it at night. Whispering sweet nothings, telling their child how much they were loved. And each time he did, Jaddu fell a little more in love with him.

The night their baby arrived was chaotic. Jaddu was in immense pain, Mahi was barking orders at the doctors, and the entire house was on edge.

"Mahi… it hurts…" Jaddu sobbed, gripping his hand.

"I know, baby, I know," Mahi kissed his forehead. "Just a little longer. You’re doing amazing."

Hours later, a baby’s cry filled the room. The doctor smiled. "It’s a girl."

Mahi held his daughter, tears in his eyes. He turned to Jaddu, placing the baby in his arms. "She’s perfect. Just like you."

Jaddu smiled through his exhaustion. "She looks like you."

Mahi pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. "She’s ours. Our little princess."

And for the first time in his life, Mahindra Singh Dhoni felt complete.
