Ravindra Jadeja adjusted the sleeves of his kurta, looking at himself in the mirror.

"Jaddu, stop fixing your clothes. You look fine."

Jaddu turned to see Hardik leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed with a smirk.

"I just... it’s my wedding, Hardik. I want to look perfect."

"You think Mahi bhai cares about how you look? He barely looks at anyone properly."

Jaddu rolled his eyes. "I know he loves me. He’s just... Mahi."

Hardik shrugged. "Yeah, yeah. Mr. Mafia Boss doesn’t show emotions." He walked closer, putting a hand on Jaddu’s shoulder. "You sure about this? I mean, I know you love him, but can you handle a lifetime of his silence?"

Jaddu smiled softly. "His silence speaks louder than words. I know how he feels, even if he doesn’t say it."

Hardik let out a small chuckle. "You’re too patient for your own good, bro. Alright, let’s get you married before Mahi bhai kills someone out of impatience."

Mahendra Singh Dhoni stood near the mandap, his posture firm and expression unreadable. His closest men stood behind him, each one a silent guardian of the most powerful man in the underworld.

Rohit nudged him. "Bhai, at least pretend to look happy. You’re getting married, not signing a business deal."

Mahi shot him a look. "It is a business deal. A lifetime one."

Rohit groaned. "Jaddu is in love with you. You love him too, even if you refuse to admit it to yourself."

Mahi didn’t respond. Instead, his eyes remained on the entrance, where Jaddu finally appeared.

Jaddu walked down with confidence, his emerald-green sherwani complementing his sharp features. His eyes searched for Mahi’s, but as expected, Mahi didn’t give away anything.

But the slight clench of his jaw, the way his fingers curled, the tightening of his stance—Jaddu noticed it all. And that was enough.

---

"You’re my husband now," Jaddu whispered as they sat side by side in their wedding chamber. "You can at least pretend to be happy."

Mahi loosened the collar of his sherwani. "I don’t pretend."

Jaddu sighed but smiled. "Fine. I’ll take that as a yes." He reached for Mahi’s hand. "I know you’re not good with words, Mahi. But I don’t need them. Just don’t push me away."

Mahi’s fingers tightened around Jaddu’s for a second before he pulled away. "Sleep. It’s late."

Jaddu chuckled. "You’re impossible."

Mahi didn’t reply, but when Jaddu leaned his head against his shoulder, he didn’t move away either.

Months passed, their life settling into an odd balance. Mahi remained his usual distant self, yet his actions spoke volumes. The way his hand always found Jaddu’s waist when they were in public, the way his eyes flickered with subtle concern when Jaddu was tired, the way his men never dared to cross a line with Jaddu because they knew their boss would kill for him.

And then, one day, everything changed.

"Mahi... I need to tell you something."

Mahi looked up from his laptop, his sharp gaze immediately assessing Jaddu’s nervous stance. "What is it?"
